We move from Gold to Platinum on the 2nd cruise of our B2B in a few weeks. Our cruise docs came today and show Gold for both cruises because we haven't taken that 10th cruise yet. Has anyone experienced changing castaway club levels during a B2B? If so, what was your experience?....Did you have any issues getting your correct amenities, laynard, etc for the correct level on the 2nd cruise? Any advice?

Didn't happen to us, but what I've read about is people having to remind the CMs and Guest Services about the new level. Because the old cruise hasn't closed out yet, all their info will say that you are gold. You just have to go to GS after you board for the new leg and remind GS so you get the gifts and the platinum letter. Remind them at the terminal so your new KTTW shows the new status and you get the platinum lanyards.

I moved from gold to plat on b2b dream cruises. I had great difficulty getting the appropriate obc. Ship eventually figured out that i was plat. Actually my status was updated on disney website....Accessed by my iPad in port, but not at port computers or ship computers. after three contacts with front desk. I cornered an officer at the castaway reception. Another trip to guest services and it was finally sorted. Good luck!

I couldn't find a more recent thread with updated experiences. I was curious if this is still an issue when doing a b2b and changing your castaway club level.

We did a back to back and met a family that was doing the same and moving up a level between cruises. When they checked in for their second cruise they got the appropriate lanyards for their new level. We ran into them later in the week and they said they had gotten the correct stateroom gift for their new level as well.

Other than a free meal at Palo and a different colored beach bag and lanyard, there really aren't any perks for turning Platinum between b2b cruises.

But once you've gotten to that next level you want to get the new colored bag and lanyard. At least I know I did. :)

Hubby and I have been platinum for years, but our son just turned platinum on the 2nd leg of our B2B a few weeks ago. We were in Copenhagen and no one there had any ideas about lanyards, etc. It was no big deal, but he would have enjoyed having a little "moving up" ceremony in the terminal. ;-)

There was another family moving from silver to gold and they had the same problem. Apparently, they went to guest services once back on board and got their gold status recognized. We saw them later in the week proudly sporting their new gold castaway club bag. :-)
