I have read about the change in parent company for National/Alamo in another post - Do you think this change will affect EA selection after Oct. 1?

Have EA reservation for November --wondering if I should just reserve a full size to be safe.

If you need a full size RESEVE it.

EA is only guranteed midsize. If you won't fit, I don't recommend using it. Yes, there may be a full size car, but last time I used EA in Orlando there were only midsize cars.

If you have to do an upgrade there you could get a good deal or you could be charged an arm and a leg!

I was told they were purchased by a holding company, also purchased was Alamo. The change over will be 10/1.

National/Alamo sale has a news article about the sale. The main news is that:

"Approved by the Delaware bankruptcy judge, Cerberus Capital Management's purchase of ANC Rental Corp. [parent company of Alamo and National] is slated to close by the end of September. The deal by Cerberus, which has $9 billion under management, would mark the second time in less than 10 months that a top-five car-rental company has been sold. Budget Rent A Corp. was acquired out of bankruptcy by hotel and real estate conglomerate Cendant Corp., the parent company of Avis Rent A Car System, in November."

Obivously, business as usual, no "OMg the sky is falling".

Cerberus is "a three-headed dog guarding the entrance to Hades". There must be a joke there somewhere. How about it Gail?
