Change a Room only to a Package?

Hey guys I just booked POR for Feb 26 - Mar 3 with the 30% offer :cool1: We are so excited! I only booked a room only package as we are unsure if we wanted to get the dining plan or not. If we decide not to get dining, we will just buy tickets at undercover tourist to save a little money.

If we do decide to get the dining plan, how many days prior to arrival do we have to add it?

Also, if we decide to upgrade hotels will we lose our 30%? I understand that if the hotel we want is unavailable it won't be possible.

Lastly, I booked online and was trying to add a room request of building 14 ground floor and it wouldn't let me. So I just call CRO and tell them I'd like to make a room request? How will I know that this has actually been added?

Thanks! Now off to plan!!

Dining must be added at least 3 days prior to arrival. Keep in mind that if you decide to change to a package with tickets and dining, the room only will have to be cancelled/refunded and the package booked, requiring payment in full as money paid toward a room only reservation cannot be transferred to a package.

You will not lose your discount if you upgrade your resort. You are correct that the resort you want to change to must be available under the 30% offer in order for you to upgrade. With that said, if the offer you are booked under expires before you want to upgrade, guest services will most likely have to make the change as regular reservation CMs usually can't check availability/change resorts under expired discounts.

To make a room request, just call and have them add it to your reservation.

So I can't add tickets and dining? I will lose my discount if I do this? This discount ends tonight! I really need to figure this out ASAP!!

You CAN add tickets and dining to a discounted room - but..

It is not as simple as - adding tickets and dining.

They will need to refund your deposit for your room only reservation.
You will now need to put down a *new* $200 for your new package reservation (which will be your discounted room + tickets + dining).

Thanks. I would be paying in full as my trip is with in 45 days. I just don't wanna lose the 30% off if we decide to get dining. I think it may be wiser to just cancel my room only and rebook a package without the dining plan. It just seems easier.

That is what I would do that way it will be much easier to add a dining plan later

You can also rebook as a package with 1 day tickets for everyone...then the amount of $$$ due at 45 days won't be as much - you can add the Dining Plan later (if you decide to do so) and you can upgrade your tickets at the resort when you check in.

This would be the easiest right now since the 30% discount is still valid. But as I posted above, once it expires, it's still possible to switch to a package and keep the discount. Since it does require the cancellation of the room only and a new package booked, Guest Services would have to do it to make sure your discount isn't lost....but it can be done without losing the discount ;).
