What are my chances of getting a Standard BWV Studio for December 20, 2011? Now that I cannot add the DxDDP for only the first two nights of our trip (due to no longer offering segmented dining), I'm trying to consider my options. I have 3 nights booked in an AKV Value Studio. I am wanting the DxDDP for only the first 2 nights. I'm considering cancelling the last night and getting a studio elsewhere for a split stay, thus allowing me to get the DxDDP for just 2 nights. I really don't have the extra money to add the plan onto the last night, nor do I need the extra credits. Before I call MS to see what's available, I would love to know what you guys think is possible. I would love a standard studio at BWV. Am I out of my mind? If so, where else (besides OKW-don't want 2 beds) do you think is possible this late in the game?

(Of course, if I make this change, and then they decide to allow existing segmented reservations the ability to add the plan, I will be more furious than I am right now.)

I don't know about your chances of getting a standard view..sorry....but I'd call again about adding the dining plan......I just added it today to the first night of my previously segmented reservation.....didn't mention the word segmented when I called just said I wanted to add it to my reservation for the night of 9/28 and they did it.....sending you pixidustpixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Yes, I read your post on the other forum. I'm happy that you were able to do this, but not happy that some people are being told yes you can and some people no you can't. I called right before they closed and spoke to a supervisor, so I didn't have time to call back. I will try to call tomorrow but it will be around 9:45 before I can get the chance. Hope it's not too late. Maybe I'll get lucky too. Have fun on your trip!

Unfortunately, that is such a popular time that I think your only options will be SSR or OKW and even then, I think those may be booked as well.

It has been reported that someone called and was told no availability for a standard view studio at BWV. Whiel availability does change, the fact that at one time nothing was available, it would be highly unlikely.

I do hope that you have the same luck as PP.

Good luck!

You have no shot, Boardwalk is one of the first to fill up because of the after park hours things to do. I have a question, not a crit. this puzzels me. Since you aren't going to use the kitchen, why book at villas? I see your getting a studio, but all places have those if moderate, right? If money is a problem, why not book a villa with kitchen and buy a few groceries? Much cheaper, and you can use the crook pot, or fix simple easy meals like spaghiti or whatever. Just wondering what I'm missing?
I see people spending to feed families in one day, what we spend in a week at disney, literally! I don't get it.

Why would I book at a moderate when I have purchased DVC and can book at a deluxe? I enjoy staying in deluxe accommodations, and we do eat breakfast in the room so the kitchenette makes that more convenient. Moderates do not have kitchenettes. I also enjoy going to Disney and experiencing the food. I HATE cooking at home, so why would I do it at Disney? That would not be a vacation to me.

I don't understand your post. I appreciate your answer to the question about BWV, but I don't understand why you had to give your opinion of booking there vs. a moderate. This is a DVC forum, you know.

I doubt that you would get a standard view studio at the BWV for December, even with the waitlist. Since it's for just 1 night, there may be a slight chance.:wizard:

Thank you, bobbiwoz. That's what I was afraid of.

I hope someone can answer this....
If I am so lucky to be able to add and pay for the DxDDP for the first segment of my trip and then have to cancel the trip, what happens? Am I able to get a reimbursement, or is it just lost?

That's another reason I like waiting to add the plan 48 hours before I arrive. You just never know.

I think you would be refunded, but I've never had that happen.

In 2005, I needed another room for 1 night for my DMom's party celebration. We were at BWV from December 19 to the 23rd. The one night did come through, but it was preferred. I had gone on the waitlist about 2 months before. There are more members now, but that's my experience. I had waitlisted for preferred or standard. The room came though for me about 2 weeks before our trip!

SSR at least is definately possible. I booked SSR for 19 nights in a studio starting at 6 weeks out from our Christmas/New Years trip last year. It took a lot of calling and waitlists for the entire thing but we got it! I will be cancelling our BW room for this Christmas so someone will get that. New baby's due Dec 29th lol.

OP, ordinarily I would say you have no chance this late in the game for December but because you only need one night I think you may, in fact, have a chance. Get on a wait list and call periodically as well. Good luck!

sorry, I clearly stated it was a question, not a crit. Now I have my answer. so thanks. I guess personal questions aren't allowed, I'm new, I didn't know. again, sorry. was really just wondering what, If anything, I was missing . It wasn't an opinon at all. I don't like to cook either, but I'm cheap, so I deal, LOL>

Your best bet is to keep calling and ask for the availability. I know I've been calling to book BLT and ask about other availablity for the month of December and BCV has come up a couple of times.

Stay optimistic and keep calling

OP - I don't think your chances are great, but a waitlist can't hurt. Another suggestion is to just get the regular DDP for all three nights. Maybe you can rearrange your credit usage, eat some counter service instead of TS; you can maybe pay OOP for a reservation you really want to keep with the money you saved on the DDP. Can that work? I am hoping you find a good solution without having to mess up your hotel reservations.

Congratulations on the new baby!

You have no chance of scoring a room at BWV. You can probably get a room at SSR or OKW. I know, I tried. I'm staying at OKW. The weeks right before the holidays are Prime Time with DVC Owners..Good luck though.

Well, I called today to see if it was available. No such luck. I could choose between OKW (for only 1 more point but weird to me having 2 beds in the room when it's just DH and myself), SSR (for too many more points than I'm willing to part with), or AKV Standard at Kidani (for 3 more points). I just don't know what to do. I don't think I would mind moving rooms the last night. We are going to be resort hopping all day that last day anyway. We could just go ahead and pack up (not much since we are only staying 3 nights), resort hop over to the new resort, check in, resort hop some more to see all the Christmas decorations, then head back to the new resort that night after dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse. The next day we are just waking up and heading out, so no need to unpack much. I'm thinking it's better than spending $157 more and leaving with wasted credits.

For the pp who stated I could do the regular DDP for the 3 nights, here's the problem with that. I have several TS meals reserved including the CP (which is 2 credits) and Yachtsman (2 credits). I don't want to give up either of these, which I would have to do with the regular plan since I would have only 3 TS credits. I would also be giving up Liberty Tree Tavern and Chefs de France. I really don't want to give them up either. Plus the regular DDP does not include appetizers which I love. Don't think I haven't thought about the route, but I just can't part with these ressies. :lovestruc

Thanks, everyone, for your responses. I've got to do some major thinking to figure out what I will do.

Sorry, I didn't mean to come off like I was criticizing either. I realized after I posted that you didn't have many posts, and you probably just didn't know. This is a DVC forum, so you are probably going to see many people who book at DVC resorts. Most people on here won't book at a moderate unless it's for free dining or some kind of promotion. And you will probably see many DVC members adding the DDP to their trip, even though they have a kitchen. That was not the reason I bought into DVC. I knew going in I would still eat at the Disney restaurants.

I just was confused by your post. Sorry again if I came off as rude. Welcome to the DIS!
