Frontier first time flying

One of my customers is flying me out to do some work for them on Frontier. They've booked my flight with a carryon and a seat assignment already, it's about a four hour flight. What things do I need to know before I get to the airport and what things are different from other legacy airlines that I should be aware of?

They will frequently stop boarding 15 minutes before scheduled departure, that's earlier then what's listed on the BP.

NO free food or drinks. Bring a water bottle and fill it post security

Bring your own food and entertainment. Make sure your devices are charged. Not much padding on the seat. I have to carry my own seat pillow to sit on.

Last time I flew they were very strict with making sure that the carry on and personal item fit into the bin that they have before boarding. You were not allowed to touch the item at all to squish it down or tuck in the strap. If it didn't fit, you could go to the back of the boarding line and re-pack and try again or spend $100 to check the bag. This was at the time where Frontier employees were getting a bonus for each bag that they checked at the gate. Not sure if it's still this way. It held up our departure by 1.5 hours and I swore I'd never fly Frontier again. Allegiant is my go-to discount airline.

We flew Frontier in January for the first time in over 10 years. Our usual travel backpacks were maybe 1" larger in one dimension than what was acceptable. After reading about how strict they are about what's a personal item, I bought some cheap bags on Amazon that are the exact dimensions for Frontier & Spirit's personal item. It was only a quickie 3-night trip so we didn't need a lot of stuff.
Much to our surprise, no one checked for compliance of any of our bags (we bought carry ons too.) Also we saw people using regular adult sized back packs. Dh griped about how disorganzied he was the whole time. I was so afraid of being charged $100 per bag each way which potentially could be $800, so I don't know if I'd fly them for a longer trip where we're bringing a lot more stuff.

The seats were very uncomfortable, like a lawn chair bolted to the floor. Also the fold down tray is tiny, a little larger than my cell phone.

We ate a full meal at the gate and brought our own bottled water onboard so we didn't need anything they were selling.

After just using Spirit Airlines which I assume is comparable I determined that the price matches the comfort. Those seats are terrible. I'd never take a flight longer than two hours in either of these airlines. JS.
