Chances of getting a 2 bed lock off?

We are going to make another trip in May 2006. I Would like to take the In-Laws. I would really like to get a 2 bedroom lock off. That way they would have there own entrance, and micro/fridge. If i request the lock off what are the chances i will get it. Are the chances better at certain DVC resorts? (more lock-off's)

I'm pretty sure that BWV only has 2 bedroom lock offs, so that would be a good one to go to.

Yes - your chances are 100% if you stay at the BWV. bobbiwoz is correct - there are no dedicated 2 bedroom units at the BWV. May isn't hard to get a room so even if you don't own there, you shouldn't have a problem reserveing at the 7 month mark.

Thanks! Are the other DVC's About equal? I thought i seen a post a while back, that listed the numbers for each type of room at all the DVC's. does anyone have that?

OKW has a lot of lock-offs. Isn't "lock-off" a reservable room class now at all resorts, like standard vs. boardwalk view at BWV?

Yes, all DVC resorts have lock-off rooms, but BWV is the only one that does not have dedicated 2 bedroom units. Not sure if VWL is in that catagory too or not.

AFAIK, it would only be a request.

In the past when I've specifically requested a lock-off, the confirmation stated "lock-off" in the room type, not the "request" area...that is why I am thinking it is a reserved room type...as close to a guarantee as DVC gives. If you request a dedicated, it simply says "2 Bedroom". Wouldn't it almost have to be, so they could track availability of studios and 1-bedrooms?

Lock off are direct bookings and as such they should be "guaranteed". Of course DVC will reserve the right to substitute if the need arises, so there is no absolute guarantee.

As far as I know, "Lock off" at OKW is a booked reservation just as "dedicated 2 bedroom" is. If you make no request at OKW, you will get a dedicated. For a lock-off, you must specifically reserve that.
