Chances for summer 7 months out

We are owners at BWV and are currently planning next years trip. We would like to try the two resorts we have not yet experienced--OKW and BLT and also would like to go back to Kidani as we stayed there this past January for the first time and spent so much time in the parks that we really didn't take advantage of any of the resort activities.

So we are wondering what our chances would be at booking these three resorts at the 7 month window? We would probably be looking at late July/early August and would be able to call right at the 7 month window. We would probably want to stay at each resort 2 nights and won't care about the order of our stays.

As long as you are fine with LV at BLT, I don't think you will have any trouble booking those resorts at the 7 month window.

We travel at that time frame and while I own at BLT, getting rooms at the 7 month mark at any of the other resorts has not been a problem. Matter of fact, I was even able to get a LV studio in May for our August trip.

Wow, this is great news. DH is convinced that the only thing available would be SSR and we have already stayed there and it isn't one of our favorites. I wouldn't pass up the castle view if it were available, but would be fine with LV. I have wanted to stay at a monorail resort since I was a little girl so this will be exciting.

As long as you book exactly at 7 months, you should have no problems. Summer is not a peak booking time for members, points are high, temperatures are even higher, crowds and the possibility of hurricanes.

We have always had our choice of places to stay at 7 months during the summer.

I hear you on the temps and the crowds! We were there two years ago in August and I said never again, but with kids in school it is tough. I look for an odd break in the school year, but we don't always get one that is long enough for a trip (we like at least 5 nights). We did get one this past January and it was a fantastic trip. It was because they had built a new high school and moved in between the 2nd and 3rd nine weeks--we're not likely to see that again anytime soon! I am actually hoping to plan this trip out and then when the school calendar comes out find a decent fall break and postpone the trip until then. Sometimes they have something around Election Day or the week after. We probably won't know until March though.

We have had our choice at BLT 7 months out. Hopefully you will too. Once we had to wait list two nights out of our stay & they came through early on. Enjoy your stay wherever it may be.

I hear you on the temps and the crowds! We were there two years ago in August and I said never again, but with kids in school it is tough. Booking in the Fall, especially October and early Nov. will be much harder to get at 7 months. Food and Wine Festival is a big draw for DVC members.

We have taken 10-11 day trips to WDW every summer for the past 6 summers, usually late July, & have NEVER had to waitlist. We've booked studios, 1BR, & 2BR.

We always stay at BCV & usually combine it with a split stay at BLT or AKV.

We have always had to book at 7 months because we've never wanted to stay at SSR at that time of year (our home resort).

You will probably be fine so long you call as soon as your 7 month window opens. OKW is large, so that likely won't be a problem. As for BLT, definitely plan on lake view (or if you choose, MK view). We can book BLT at 11 months and even when I call the day I can book, I can never seem to get a standard view. Standard views fly off the shelves. We tend to go every June due to schedules and haven't had a problem booking at 7 months. We even got BCV (for the summer, not F&W), which I didn't think I'd get. Have a great trip!
