chances for Palo Brunch?

So we are thinking about taking a three night cruise over MLK weekend on the Magic. We really don't love the three nighters but the price was right, only 1 day of school will be missed, airfare was shockingly reasonable, we have frequent flyer miles, a dummy cruise booked so we get a discount and have paid 1/3 already, and most important, our oldest will be 18 by then and has wanted to go to Palo since we first started cruising when she was little. Of course the Palo brunch is booked (this cruise is just a stop at CC and a day at sea, usually 3 night cruises don't have Palo brunch). We don't want to give up one of our three dining rotations if at all possible and love brunch more than dinner at Palo. We'd prefer dining in our regular restaurant.

I'm interested in finding out how much success people have had booking Palo brunch onboard for a shorter cruise with just one sea day. I'd like to get an idea of what our chances are. I REALLY hope that there are mostly success stories!! pixiedust: Thanks

DCL holds back about half the Palo brunch reservations to be booked onboard. If you're one of the first to board and go directly to dining changes/reservations (place will be listed in the Navigator/newsletter you're given when you board) you should be able to get the ressies.

Good luck!

Disney does hold back reservations for Palo. Go directly to Palo once you board and hopefully you will be able to get a reservation.

OP is correct. One sea day. :thumbsup2

3-Night Bahamian Cruise on Disney Magic Itinerary D

January 17 to January 20
Disney Magic

Day Port ............................ Ashore ............... Onboard
1 Port Canaveral, Florida .... — ................. 4:00 p.m.
2 At Sea ............................ — ................. —
3 Castaway Cay ................. 8:30 a.m. ...... 4:45 p.m.
4 Port Canaveral, Florida ..... 7:30 a.m.

Just saying hi!! We are also sailing on this cruise!! :)

I was a little surprised Palo brunch was gone as fast as it was especially for a sailing that wasn't nearly full when it disappeared. We decided to pass this time around so we could enjoy another lunch in the new Cabanas (which we love).

Good luck!

Heather

Did I miss a post that questioned the one sea day?

Wow! Two friends of mine on the same cruise SuzD and Ibelieveinthemagic. Have a great cruise. We board the Magic on 1/27/14 for 11 days.

As others have said, try to get a Palo reservation the day you board.

Apparently. I guess I created it in my mind. :rotfl2:

Perhaps poor choice of words. :confused3

No seriously. I wasn't aware of a 3 night with a sea day, so I copied and pasted the itinerary. Odds are others would ask. I was being proactive. Sorry if I offended you. Some post more details for readers and not just the OP to assist future searches, etc.

:)

Oh you didn't offend me at all! I just wondered if someone posted a question about it and then deleted it. The sea day instead of Nassau was something that pushed us off the fence because it gives a palo brunch option. We actually really like Nassau and don't usually mind going there. On our very first cruise we met a lovely Bahamian woman in one of the shops. We stop and see her every time we go to Nassau. She says for our girls to tell their friends that they have a grandma in the Bahamas. Love visiting her.

Btw, good thinking on posting the info for others.

Yes indeed this itinerary has been questioned on another thread and it's a little unique which is another reason why we booked it! ;)

One more thing, I was with you on not realizing that there was a 3 night with a sea day but apparently ours isn't the only one. I saw several more with that itinerary. I think its a smart move on DCL's part. I think lots of people love a sea day.

Cool. I thought I upset you. Perhaps the question WAS on that other thread. :lmao:

And can live w/o Nassau. ;) Especially given the option.

Enjoy

We sail on the 1/31/14 Magic, a 3 day, with a sea day and no Nassau stop. Love this itinerary. Nice change. On the 1/27/14 Magic, we signed up for the Greycliffe chocolate tour at Nassau. Read good reviews on the DIS.

Hi Heather and Sue! Wish we could join you! Sue, on our way back to Michigan, we plan to stay in Morgantown a few days to see the kids/grandkids. Maybe we can meet up then.

Jan, I'm going to make a special effort to get together. Let me know the dates as soon as you get them. We'd love to have all of your family over for a Disney themed dinner.
