Chances for 7 nights at BLT last week in January?

We got back from Disney (polynesian) recently and loved it. Not 100% my taste but my wife (who insisted on buying day ears and night ears) and my son (2) loved it. I loved how genuinely nice and wonderful the cast members were to him. Our offer for our first dvc points was accepted this morning.

After a lot of research we went with bay lake towers because we would like to grow our family and the monorail/walking distance with stroller to MK is awesome. If the monorail wasn't there we would have chosen animal kingdom or wilderness lodge based on theme.

So...we should have our points in our hands in April. We plan on getting a 2 bedroom in BLT to take a set of grandparents with us for 7 nights. We would like to also stay at Animal Kingdom in a concierge level studio or 1 bedroom for an additional 2 nights

The plan would be to schedule for the last week to week and a half of January. Is this a pipe dream to think we can get what we want when booking in April?

You should have little problem getting BLT at 7 months but you will have to be flexible about you view - probably you will end up with a Lake view. You should have no problem either with a 1 bed at AKV.
Here comes the negative, it will be really hard to get a club level room at AKL. There are only 10 and they all book out at 11 months. You could get lucky with a cancellation - you can always wait-list it.

Good luck and welcome home.

Good to know about AKL. I think we will try and just get a SV view then. We were sooo torn between AKL and BLT but the monorail won out. I have a feeling that we will want an AKL contract after staying there.

Actually there are only 5 two bedroom lockoffs at AKV Concierge. Sometimes you can luck out, a friend got a 1 bedroom at 7 months for late June once.

Sounds like we must wait until we have access and hopefully get lucky but at least bay lake should be open in January.

We talked a bit more and thought we might drive down around September and stay at AK for 3 or 4 days then do bay lake in January just for 7 nights. Hopefully can do a 1br SV in September as I'm sure concierge is an impossibility.

Thanks for the help. So anxious to book! The biggest problem with resales has to be the wait for your DVC #!

Last part of Jan is not a very high demand time. In April you should be able to get either Theme Park or Lake View; however, standard view may be more difficult. At 7 months out you should be able to easily get AKV savanna view; concierge or value will be difficult. Note that if your desire is a good savanna view then you should avoid the concierge rooms. Only 3 out of the 5 2BR lock-off concierge rooms have savanna view, you cannot request view, and even the ones with savanna view don't have that great a view.

Would want sv view then over concierge. Really want to make sure sv view is worth buying more points at ak
