Chance of Waitlist Success???

Waitlisted for Oct. 9th-15th @ AKL Kidani and BWV's Nov. 20th-26th, what are my chances? Both are studios.

Which views have you requested? Regarding your BWV reservation, a standard studio will certainly be more challenging to secure than a garden/pool view.

I was able to get a BWV pool/garden studio for November 10 to 16 last year about 2 months out. I had a 5 night waitlist, I stalked the website and the last 3 nights came open so I booked them and changed the waitlist to 2 nights. Then night 2 came open, I booked it and changed the waitlist to just the first night. That waitlist came through at 28 days. Member services combined the reservation into one 5 night reservation. I had an AP discount reservation as a backup, so I wasn't juggling an existing DVC reservation. If I would have just depended on the 5 night waitlist, I doubt I would have got it.

Can't speak to November at BWV.
But we got our wait list for BWV Pool view Studio for our June trip we just got back last week. Our BWV wait list also came through for the 2nd week of October.
I think we put our request in March or April & both came through fairly quickly.

Both those are going to be tough. The October dates are Midwest fall break weeks and the November week is Thanksgiving week. We originally had that week in October and many choices were filling up right at 7 months. Changed to Halloween week when we found that flights were more than double during fall break.

I've had a ton of waitlist success regardless of the advice I've been given on here! Maybe I'm just lucky, but as an example I was able to get a 1 bedroom LV at BLT less than 6 months out during F&W festival, which many people told me not to hold my breath for. I've also gotten into BWV late Sept/early Oct twice.

Honestly you just never know. For example on Tuesday I cancelled a 2bdrm Std View BLT room for Nov 2-8. I'm sure it filled someone's waitlist. We had to cancel since we'll have have 4wks old and we couldn't imagine bringing a baby under two months old and possibly my husband might be getting a new job so time off might not work at that time.

We've had pretty good success having our waitlists fulfilled. I definitely wouldn't rule them out of coming through, but just have a back up room just in case

Thanks all who responded, we can always book a cash ressie or can always go to Cape Sa Blas. But would love for my waitlis to come thru. Been a member since '99n have only waitlisted a few times and they have came thru. So maybe.
