Chance of getting 4 studios around each other?

What do you think the chances are to get 4 studios around each other at BWV? Do you think i'd have a better chance if i link all the rooms together with a grand gathering number? There will be 13 of us staying on DISNEY property and 5 staying off property. How would grand gathering work if we wanted to make thanksgiving day reservatins for everyone, including the 5 off property, is that possible?

I can tell you that from my experience, we have booked several studios and requested that they be near each other, quite a few times. each time we got what we wanted....everyone on the same floor and in the same 'wing' (can't think of a better word???)

As for Grand Gatherings, i really cannot help you there, as i have never done it.

but I do not think you will have a hard time getting 4 studios near each other.

Our experience of getting rooms near each other at BWV has been very satisfactory. We've done it there twice, once with 5 rooms and once with 3 rooms. Each time involved 1 2 bedroom and the rest studios.

I thought GG only included guests staying on the WDW property. Can you really include the guests not staying at a WDW resort on your gathering??

I would think it would be difficult to get four studios near each other at BWV. With the long hallways, you might get on the same floor, but still be a long way away.

You can include some offsite guests in grand gathering events (like the Safari dinner, Wishes cruise, etc.) but it's a small percentage (something like 20%). You've got a better chance of the studios being close to each other if you register as a GG and put the number on your reservations. It's worked for our group in the past.

With 13 for dinner you'll need to call group dining. Their number is 407/939-7707. They will tell you that you'll probably be at several tables but they will be close together.

We're doing this grand gathering thing for the first time ourselves in July. The research I did showed that doing so will increase your chances of being roomed closer together.

It doesn't cost anything to register as one, so I'd do it. You register through MS. You'll need the names, phone numbers and addresses for each person in your group.

Then, once you're registered you're able to book grand gathering events (if you choose) and I've been told its easier to get group dining reservations as well.

If you are thinking about Thanksgiving 2007 and don't already have reservations for the 4 studios, your first challenge will be getting the reservation. That is a popular time and it will be very difficult to get 4 studios at 7 months.

Wow! Good for you. With that info, I'd say to just ask MS to put a request on all 4 reservations to be close to each other (no other requests) and hope for the best. I'm sure the room assigners will try, but as of course you know, it's really going to depend on what rooms are vacant/available on your check in day. Goodl uck!

It really depends on how close you will be happy with. I'd say same floor and same general area is likely workable. I would suspect they won't all be right next door to each other given the set up of the resort, room types and number of rooms you need.

i am not expecting right next door or anything , but like you said hopefully same floor and same general area that would be great....hope it works out!

It's not too late to get a GG number. Call MS ask for one and then ask that they include the number on the reservation you have.

We've done GG the last three years. I've always had to call back to have MS include the number on my reservations.

But that has to be the number of studios for the whole resort - the OP has Boardwalk view studios booked. I do not know the exact number of those, but a good estimate is around 50. It's really going to depend on what is available (not already occupied) when the OP and party arrive. I'm sure the BWV room assigners will do their best, I agree that a Grand Gathering number sure can't hurt.

Usually Sundays are the biggest turnover day because the Sun-Thu time period is very popular.

But if you are checking in on an odd day, it may be more difficult if there aren't enough check-outs that same day, on the same floor, and 'near' each other.

There will also be some impact based on how many of the 2-B/R lock off units are using the Studio portion, and how many aren't, thus making the Studio part available.
