Chance of a peek at SSR?

I read on another thread that the Spa at SSR will be opening a couple of weeks before the rest of the resort. Is this confirmed?

I am in Orlando April 30-May 14 so will miss the resort opening but would love to get in for a peek!!!! Otherwise I guess I will have to look from across the lake at DTD and wait for photos from you helpful guys!

We won't be staying at SSR until September! It seems like ages to wait! It is so frustrating because we bought SSR on the last day of our trip in December. We were just about to leave for the airport after the tour so we didn't get a chance to look at the construction or go and look at any of the other DVC properties. We were staying at Beach Club too so it would have been easy to have a look at BCV and BWV.

I just got back from a wonderful stay at BWV. I drove over to see if I could get on the grounds of SSR just to see how it's coming along, but they weren't letting any gawkers in yet. I wasn't too surprised, since they wouldn't want people milling around while construction is going on. But I wanted to see how close I could get without getting in their way.

Looks like it will be a great place. To my very UNknowledgeable eye, it looked like they have a long way to go in order to open on time. Unless only part of it is due to open next month?? I haven't really paid close attention to projected opening dates there.

Yup -- only a few buildings will be open in May. In fact, only one residential building will be open in time for the grand opening. That building, however, appears to be nearly ready.

You're right, though, to assume that insurance company rules probably require that they keep everyone far away from the construction site!

He allowed me to stop that car and take a pic of the "Sign". I got to drive on property as far so that I could pull a "Louie"!

Technically, I could say that I have been on property!LOL
