Champagne/Wine Toast

We are having a package bar that includes house wines. I am planning on getting a bottle of Iron horse for me and DF, and bottles of the cheaper champagne they offer for the bridal party. I think it will be too expensive to get champagne for all of our guests, so will most likely do wine instead. Now since house wine is included in our package, will serves walk around and pour glasses for our guests before the toasts? Also, is it possible to BYO champagne? If so is there a corkage fee, how much? There is a brand of Champagne me and DF really like that is quite cheap, so we might end up doing this depending on the cost and hassle. (We plan on getting some for the limo ride anyway.)

Well I can answer part of my own question! I just looked at the Bar Package info. sheet and on the bottom it says that if you want servers to pour wine for guests you have to buy each bottle and will get billed for it BOC! Well since we are already paying for guests to drink as much wine as they want, it seems a little silly to pay $30 a bottle so someone can pour it at the table for them! Now I am really considering the BYO option so if anyone has any info. on this it would really help. What did everyone else do for toasts?

My planner suggested that you serve only half glasses of champagne so you'd get double the amount of glasses per bottle. I think one bottle serves 4-6 normally so you'd get 8-10 half glasses.

We didn't have a toast bc we didn't have a best man or maid of honor, and we didn't serve champagne at all. I did pay for two bottles bc I LOVE champagne, thinking I would drink it during the reception but I had a horrible headache so I didn't drink any alcohol. We took them with us after the reception and had one in the room that night and I still have the other bottle at home waiting for a special occassion.

We are also getting the Beer & Wine package but decided to replace a wine with champagne, that way we do not need to pay extra for the toast. It is costing us only $4.00 more per person, which is great because a lot of our guests love to drink champagne. I haven't discussed in detail with my planner about the toast but from what I understood the servers will be pouring the champagne only for the toast. I'll send an email to my planner to confirm and I'll let you know.

We might be bringing our own Tequila but just for us and who ever catches the bouquet and garter. All of our guests are married so we figured we would do shots with who ever wins.

This is a great thread. We are doing call brand open bar. Has anyone just did a toast with drinks and hand? Or is there anyway to add the champagne into this? It seems silly where everyone can already order what they would like to drink to add on another charge. Not sure what to do in this case.

We were going to have champagne for the toast but decided not to since we were paying for an open bar. I didn't even think about adding champagne to the bar...oh, well.

We did a toast with the drinks our guests had and I don't think any of our guests realized we didn't have champagne.

Unless we can bring our own cheap, I think we will just do a toast with drink in hand, and get champagne only for the bridal party. I am already paying over $30 pp for alcohol, just think it's a bit much to add more to that!

we did a toast with sparkling cider. I like champagne but not cheap champagne and most people at weddings don't drink it anyway. I was going to do a toast with your own drink but my mom wanted something else so we did the fake stuff.

Thanks for sharing this tip! I know that most of my guests won't appreciate (or drink) the champagne... it's more of a photo op / formality than anything else. I just emailed my planners to ask them to fill half-glasses

We just went to a wedding (non-Disney) last Saturday and there was no champagne, just wine and beer. We all toasted with our drinks and I have seen some pics, they look great. Honestly, my DF only noticed because he does not like champagne and said he was glad he didn't have to drink any!
