Champagne at Lunch?

We would like to host a family luncheon on property for our 25th anniversary, and would love to have a champagne toast, if possible. There will be 7 adults dining (no grandchildren yet). Does anyone know if Grand Floridian Cafe allows alcohol at lunch... or if there is somewhere else that would be better suited for this? We are not doing the Disney vow renewal, but prefer to exchange our vows again in a church. We are simply wanting to have a luncheon at Disney in conjuction with our small family reunion. Dinner won't work as my parents are joining us, and they no longer do well for evening events (health concerns). Thanks for any info! ~Ev :)

I believe almost all of the WDW restaurants outside the MK serve alcohol during lunch if you want it.
Go over to allearsnet.com and check out the menus for all the restaurants in WDW. They should also show what kind of drinks are available.

I checked allearsnet first and the only beverages listed for the GF Cafe are coffees. I'd like to get all the planning done, so does anyone know for sure which restaurants do offer champagne at lunchtime? Thanks for any help! ~Ev :)

I agree with WDWGoofeeee - I am almost (like 99.9999%) certain that you can get any sort of alcohol you want at any time of day other than at magic kingdom (where they don't serve alcohol at all). I know for a fact that the Grand Floridian dining establishments serve alcohol and I can't imagine you would have any problem getting it at lunch versus the evening.

Being the planner that I am though, I understand that you want to have everything in order *before* your trip so you're best bet is probaby to just call the GF and confirm. :sunny:

Congratulations on 25 years! My DH and I are celebrating our 2nd anniversary at WDW in June.

I think you should call the hotel directly, I don't have the phone number though. Just because the menu has coffee under beverages, doesn't in anyway mean that they do not serve alcohol. I just can't see the GF not having champagne available to their guests. If they don't have it, perhaps you they will allow room service to bring it down for you, and if worse comes to worse, have your toast outdoors. Which actually sounds like an excellent idea to me

Well, I know in the past I've ordered a mimosa at the Grand Floridian Cafe. They have a full bar. However, call the Cafe directly and see what you need to do to make the occasion as special as possible. It's really a great choice for what you are describing.

I know I read posts about people that had the special meal at Grand FLoridian - someone posted about 9 adults and 4 or 6 kids - the Butler service was $50 and well worth it from the post I remember reading - I think they set it up in a special alcove of the Grand Floridian, I seem to recall it being about a wedding anniversary - I thought it sounded very special and sweet - -

Do call the Grand Floridian - they'll make it happen!! :wizard: They make the bestest cakes too for the special occassions there is a $25 small wedding castle cake, for birthdays they have $16 out of this world chocolate cakes, and of course the oh so special slipper desserts!! Go Grand FLoridian !! :wizard:

I've gotten a Mimosa at breakfast at the GF Cafe, so I can't imagine champagne being a problem at lunch.

Try Chefs de France in Epcot. They have a variety of champagnes and a very good lunch menu. It would be a wonderful place for a "vow renewal toast".

I thought Epcot too but the OP said they are on a budget, I don't think paying admission for the entire party was included in the budget. Check w/ the GF, I have a feeling they will work with you.

Actually, my OP didn't mention a budget, and we will all have Annual Passes... so this is not a concern. We originally planned for V&A's or Artist Point, but then discovered they are not open for lunch. Thank you, everyone, for the ideas! ~Ev :)

I apologize, for some reason, I thought that you mentioned it....again, sorry.

No worries! I just didn't want to stifle any other suggestions that people may have. We've done Disney so many times with just the kids in mind, we're a little light on knowledge with regard to the adult-oriented locations and possibilities! :)

Disney offers their own champagne called Fairy Tale Cuvee. Great for a special occasion. We had it at our Disney wedding and have bought it to drink on our anniversary.
