The Characters(yes, we are all real characters. Just ask the rest of the family)
Tausha (GrowinupDisney) my DSD, will be known as TGB or Tour Guide Barbie. This is an inside joke.
Chris, my DSIL will continue to be Panda.
Julie, my DW, will be known as Nala, because according to her, she is most like Nala.
Me. I will always be me. What else could I be but what I am? A Dude.
The ducks have arrived. Now mind, these are the pushiest ducks I have ever seen. Have you ever had completely strange ducks try to come into your room? We arrived back at The Poly for some down time on this glorious afternoon and who should show up but the local waterfowl. I wouldnt call them pesky, but they were downright persistent. When we closed the patio door one of the ducks actually came close enough to the glass to knock on the door. It was the craziest thing. Panda was of the opinion that they were animatronic ducks and should therefore be treated with respect (maybe Walt is still watching?). I liked them and they entertained us every day.
After we finished with our rest, we retrieved the car and we were off to AKL for dinner at Jiko. This is one restaurant not to miss if it can be helped (maybe Zurgs evil influence can get you a PS if you forget). I had been wanting to go to this restaurant ever since I heard that they served mac & cheese with their filet mignon. Being an avid steak consumer, I have never heard of such a pairing. A sacrilege to say the least. I can honestly say this is a dish not to miss. This was dinner unequaled for the rest of our stay. For those of you out there who are wine lovers do not miss the wine.
After dinner we went to Downtown Disney to walk off dinner. As we shopped in the many stores, we came across the Christmas Store. Now the existence of this store was already well known to TGB, Nala, and myself, but the fact that they had a machine to engrave our names on the Guest of Honor badges was a windfall. We have been trying for several years to get these at DL but every time we try, the machine is broken. Go figure. Now we all have red Guest of Honor badges adorning our lanyards.
Now being that this is Pandas birthday, we arrive back to The Poly to birthday cake, balloons and jazz music in our room. HAPPY DISNEY BIRTHDAY, PANDA!!! The cake was very good considering it was just the complimentary one but it was appreciated and polished off with great gusto. Did I mention Pandas surprise?? The poor guy has had almost a surprise a day since we started. He might need therapy soon. Another surprise was yet to come. Hey Panda, wanna drive a real stock car??
Yes, that was his next gift from Nala and I. The Richard Petty Driving Experience. How cool was that?? I knew all those hours of playing Gran Turismo would come in handy for something. This was by far his biggest surprise of the evening. He and I were going to be living the dream in less than 48 hours. Almost as good as taking a ride in a jet fighter, but that is another dream ..
