CG---party of one!

I'll be at Disney in January for the marathon. It will be a solo trip for me. I have a reservation at California Grill one evening of my trip. I have never been there before. If I were going to Jiko by myself, I would ask to be seated at the counter where I could watch some of the cooking. Is there a similar spot at CG that I can request?

Also, I will likely just order sushi and maybe a flatbread.

There is a counter that you can sit at and watch the chefs prepare the food and maybe get passed a few samples. It's offered on a first come first served basis but if you arrive early for your ADR I am sure they would help you out. You could sit in the lounge with a drink if you had to wait a while for a space. Have fun

If they don't have seating at the counter available for you, try eating in the lounge. I don't make reservations at CG anymore, I just sit in the lounge.

I don't know if it's first come first served at the counter or not. I went up there once before 5:30 and asked and they said there was no seating available, not even at the counter. That's when I discovered the lounge.

Thanks for that tip about the lounge. My ADR is for 5:35. I wanted later so I could see fireworks... The lounge may be the way to go.

I was there in the lounge for 3 hours once and saw fireworks. Not that it was slow, I just kept ordering wine.

Nice thing about the lounge is that they are not waiting to turn tables over and you can hang there if you want. They also have some window tables.
