CG dress code

I just went last week, and there was a sign on the desk about not wearing bathing suits/cover ups. Otherwise, I think you're good to go.

OP ~
Depending on time of year our guys wear khaki pants or shorts and collared shirts.
DD usually wears a cute dress or maxi dress.
I usually wear capris and nice top.

That is sad ... o_O

I agree with the above. We usually try to look a touch nicer but we’ve seen basically everything there. I don’t think the dress code is enforced.

I ate there last week. There was a party with two young men (late teens/early twenties) who were wearing tank tops. The young men were given long-sleeved, button-down oxford shirts to wear. They did... unbuttoned over their tanks.

usually wear khakis and a polo shirt.
You will see everything from shorts and a t-shirt to semi-formal. Most are business casual or less. no swimwear or tank tops.

ADMINS - can we PLEASE get a Sticky on "REAL SIGNATURE RESTAURANT DRESS CODE". Gotta be the 1000th question I have seen on this :(.

OK - in the interim?

1) CLEAN Park attire is just fine. It's DISNEY. They get this.
2) It is very RARE for a Sig to kill children, even if they trip Servers. Your dear child will be FINE. The Servers are VERY GOOD at dodging little feet :).
3) PLEASE - avoid T shirts that say "Children - not just for breakfast anymore". Or any clothing that just says you wish Society, as a whole, to
DIE in a bloodbath.

Folks? This is fairly easy. Being in a Fine PUBLIC Restaurant? Just don't act like you WANT that really good Manager to ask you to leave? :(.
They HATE to do this. It only occurs when they have a serious disruption, that affects other guests :(. PLEASE - don't be that guy :(.

All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong.

I agree it's a fairly common question. Perhaps a "sticky" thread might be a good idea. But I don't see how belittling the poster who asks a question accomplishes anything. Part of what I love about these boards is the ability to share knowledge and experiences and help plan trips. I am happy to answer a question 20x or even 150x or more if it helps people plan their trips. This is my favorite place on earth and if I can help anyone else with their visit I'm thrilled to do it.

To the OP:

There is a stated dress code at California Grill (see below). Most reports will tell you they aren't incredibly strict other than tanks on men and hats. I dined there last week and there were several gentlemen with collared polo shirts and shorts that were just fine. I hope you visit and enjoy!!

Men must wear khakis, slacks or dress shorts and collared shirts. Jeans may be worn if in good condition. Sport coats are optional.

Women must wear Capri pants, skirts, dresses or dress shorts. Jeans may be worn if in good condition.

Not permitted are tank tops, flip-flops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, hats for gentlemen, cut-offs, torn clothing and t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics.

Park attire? Evidently Disney has taken notice of what 'murica looks like while touring the parks these days. CG management feeling compelled to state that swimsuits aren't acceptable really speaks to how poorly people self-regulate.

We dressed up a little; DH wore nice shorts and a polo shirt, I wore nice dress shorts and a dressy top.

We saw people there in fancy cocktail dresses and suits and the opposite as well.

All of this. :)

I suppose park attire is fine if you wear capri pants, skirts, dresses or dress shorts (and jeans if they are in good condition). ;)

OP - I wore a cute sundress, my boyfriend and my brother both wore nice jeans with button shirts, my one sister wore dress shorts with a dressy top and my other sister wore nice jeans with a dressy top. :)

REALLY. How Rude.
OP. Ignore @Dean Marino

We ate there last year for the first time. I wore a knit dress and DH wore cargo shorts with a Hawaiian shirt. We didn’t feel under dressed at all.

I know. I think that folks sometimes confuse a beach resort vacation where dole come from the pool into the bufffet to eat, with a resort vacation that is not so "relaxed."

OP- I think that as long as your clothes are clean, your DH is not wearing a tank top and baseball cap, and you do nto have a bathing suit on, you are fine.

WE like to schedule our signature meals in the evening and tend to change into clothes that are a bit more dressy after having showered and relaxed at the resort, but that is our personal preference. If we were coming from the park we would just freshen up.

If you want to dress up great, If you dont great, just dont wear anything on the non permitted list and you are fine, its that simple at WDW, with the obvious V&A exception.
