Yesterday my hubby and I stopped by the DVC preview center at SS. We asked to get a tour of the new FW Cabins. They said yes, they are giving tours of the new cabins, but you must make an appointment with a guide and the guide will go over all of the current incentives. Then they asked if we are DVC already. We replied yes. Then she said there are no appointments available “for the foreseeable future, everything is booked up for months” for the Cabin tour with a guide. Interesting.
I’ve been in sales. What stuck me was we were not asked if we were interested in adding on or if we were interested in sitting down with a guide (while not touring the cabins) to go over the current incentives. We were not asked our name, so they never looked us up. We were not asked who our guide is. Any sales person worth their salt would have asked these questions. There were 3 associates standing by the podium at the preview center. All smiled and looked at us. No one else was there. I just have to wonder why they aren’t hiring people that are sales oriented. Just ask the questions. We have a history of being the type of DVC owner that will listen to the incentives and buy 100 points that we didn’t plan on (yeah, we are strange). Bottom line is when you are in sales you ask. You never know who is ready to buy now, interested in hearing more, or who will just say no. You have to ask.
