We are using WP for the ceremony. How long does a typical ceremony last, and what did you do? I know at most church weddings I have been to, there is basically like a whole service, and the wedding, which ends up being like and hour long. While I don't want to do all that, I would like to include some religious readings/songs into the wedding, but I also don't want the ceremony to be really long. What did everyone else do?

Usually ceremonies run anywhere from 15-30 minutes, and many people think even 20 minutes is kinda long. Rarely does a ceremony go over 30 minutes.

Ours was about 15 minutes. We had the entrances, some nice "readings", a blessing of the hands, vows, and finished up. You can add all sorts of readings (religious or not) and extras like the sand ceremony. But, honestly, we wanted to get on to the fun part of actually hanging out with our guests!

We have about 30 minutes set aside but in reality it will be more like 20 minutes. Our guests are leaving around 6 (after our 5 p.m. ceremony) That will give us time for the ceremony, group pictures and a staged exit.
