Centerpieces: need your opinion...

I see what you're saying about the leaves, and nicer looking leaves may solve the problem. I also see your issue with the flower, maybe something that looks less like spring like orange or red mums or marigolds?

Also how about orange or red candles instead of the white?

I agree with this. I do like the ones with the leaves but if you want some flowers I think some yellow, orange or rust colored mums would look fabulous!

Leah,

Have you thought about doing something with branches & leaves, instead of flowers? Some nice tall curly willow branches would look pretty.

OOOH I like the idea of the mums!

Hi DisLovr! I absolutely love your centerpieces and was wondering if you'd mind sharing where you got them? Thanks so much. :goodvibes

I got them at bed bath and beyond. They came with shells and sand but obviously im not having that kind of theme. I am not sure if they still have them or not. I paid about $15 per centerpiece (set of 3) and that was using a coupon with each one. HTH!

i like the centerpieces. i dont know if this is an option but could you alternate tables. one withthe first and then another table with the third and so on. i think the tables with diffrent things on them look nice

I love the idea of alternating as well! :thumbsup2 Now, you just have to decide what to alternate!! I think having each a little different, especially if you use different shades or colors, will look really classy and make each table unique - while still being a cohesive theme.
The flowers only I think look to springy. As you all know its a fall wedding and I am just not sure about the flowers only.

I don't think it looks too springy at all! My favorite is option 1 with the yellow and orange. Because it leaves turn that color before they turn red and fall off (which is kind of played up on the table). I like the idea of having something around the base as well, because it looks a little plain. But, if you don't like the leaves on the table, maybe a nice table runner or placemat under the centerpiece might give you the pop you're looking for. What color are your table linens? This is also a factor to consider when picking colors for the decorations...

I totally agree! Maybe if you put the branches in the centerpiece and some leaves on the table you might get that "fallen leaf" look and be more "fall-y" how you wanted.

Also, have you thought of filling the cylinders with water and then putting whatever inside? That might be a cool idea ... :confused3 Something like this:

They also make beads on garland that I bet you could find in your wedding colors -- like this:

Hope I'm not being too pushy - just my 2 cents!!

good luck!!

Well...since I think it was Lynn asked...there are reasons why I don't like all of the options :lmao:
The flowers and leaves I just think don't go at all. That really isn't an option but I thought i'd put it on here anyway, what do I know maybe everyone else would have loved it and I would have had to re-think it.

The leaves only kind of look like just red/orange tissue paper :rotfl2: . However if I order the leaves that I found off line. They are orange, red, and yellow, and they have the look of the "spine" in the leaves. I hope you all know what I mean.

So...thats what I think. Still hoping for more opinions though.

I really like the way just the leaves look. It really looks like fall to me. What a beautiful time of year to get married! I think if you could find a leaf that had more spiney features like you mentioned, that would look fabulous!

Mums are my FAVORITE!!! Ok, now I don't want summer to end (I hate winter!!! :headache: :headache: :headache: ), but I get really excited when mums come out and I can plant them in my flower garden...
So to stay OT, I think Mums would be a great addition... if that is possible... they are sooooooo autumn!

I am going to have ivory skirts with burnt orange overlays. So maybe with the burnt orange in there it would make the flowers look more falley (i totally just made up that word, lol.

The only thing with the branches is then how would I use the candles? There is auctually a candle holder thing that sits in the cylinder. Or would I just break the branches to fit in the cylinder?

I can't see pictures at work but I tried water with the leaves and I HATED the way it looked. And besides I don't know if the reception site would be willing to do the set up if we used water.
