cell phones?

Can you get any service while on the seas? We'e taking a short 3 day and don't want others to know we are away, but if needed can be reached.

I've never been able to get any service after about an hour out of port. I've read some people who have gotten signal in Nassau, but I don't remember which service they were with.

I wouldn't depend on any cell service -- I have T-Mobile and my husband has the Nextel Network and neither of us could call out or receive calls -- we were on the 3 day in Feb 05 -- so, I doubt much has changed since.

We had cell service for about an hour out of port. We also had cell service in Nassau. Full signal, but roaming, of course. We are with Verizon.

I have read somewhere on here that cingluar/AT&T has service in Nassau but there are roaming charges. I have not experinced this but have read it here
