Do cell phones work in the MK? DH may want to go a different way than me and DD5? Just wanted to know if we could keep in touch with our cell phones? TIA

Last Dec we used Sprint and Nextel in all the parks without a problem. :)

No problem at all. A friend of mine works for Cingular in Orlando and he says that WDW has many cell towers on their grounds.

Hello,

I am from the UK and I used my Mobile (cell) phone in 2002 with no problems at all.

Sprint here too, and it was fine in the parks and the hotels.

We had AT&T last year and our phones worked just fine. This year we have Cingular so I'm not worried!!

Ditto for VirginMobile. Although I got better reception outside when calling from my resort.

They worked just fine. In fact with our Verizon plan, it is free to call other Verizon users, any time of the day or night. We were able to contact our son and daughter at various parks and locations throughout the day. All for free! :teeth: We'd set up times to meet or check in to see how long the lines were on particular rides etc. This was definitely a plus!

That's great info. I was hoping they would work. I'm glad someone asked the question.

Were there any phone companies that did not work or had bad service? :confused3 Just Curious!!
I think that all cellular companies have an agreement that allows users of one companies plans to piggyback on anothers signal. Typically if phone works, the rest will.

great reception in the parks but not in the rooms. We have to go outside to used them at the resorts but compared to Disney's long distance charges I'll go outside everytime.

We also used the text messaging on our cell phones a lot. It was quick and easy without having to stop and talk on the phone. We would just send a message about where we were or when to meet up. It was great!

I have used Sprint many times at WDW and never had a prblme.

Great Signal.

Just to let you know. The ambient noise is pretty loud compared to most other circumstances and the ringer is very hard to hear. If you can manage it, I'd recommend putting your cell phone on vibrate and put it in your pocket.

I missed quite a few calls because my phone was in my purse (no pockets).
