I was at Disney with our band in April and when the adults called home from the parks on their cell phones we noticed that you had to stay in one place to make your call. When we were walking and talking we noticed that the roaming area changed. Everyone had different plans and different providers, so I can't say that one was better than the other, but we did notice that the roaming areas in the parks changed sometimes by just taking a few steps in a different direction.

I also have Cingular and as far as reception they work really good in most of WDW.

As another poster mentioned. Free long distance is only from you "home" calling area.

Cingular basically has 3 plans now. One is a local plan. Anytime you are out of your "home" area you get charged big time roaming fees.

Their plan that they are pushing right now is called Preferred Nation. There is a map that they show you and certain areas of the map are coved in the preferred nation, in these "preferred" areas, you would not get charged for roaming. All the other areas you would. Orlando is in the preferred area.

The other plan which the are trying to phase out is the Nationwide plan. This would give you no roaming charges anywhere in the U.S. Because they are trying to phase out this plan, they are not offering anything special with it like free nights and weekends.

I have the Cingular Preferred Nation plan and used it extensively while there. Got my bill and had no roaming or extra charges. I only hit a couple of areas enroute to Orlando where it was roaming. One south of Valdosta, GA, and the other just north of Orlando. Everywhere else was Cingular.
