Cell Phones.... have you had a problem

We have Verizon and it did not work inside the rooms at POR. Hoever, no real problem on the grounds or around the theme parks apart from a few dead zones here and there.

At MGM I ended up getting roaming charges and my calls didn't even go through.... I have Verizon and I thought it would be ok...
NAy one else have that problem?

Not me with Sprint PCS, our phones always worked, in the parks and resort areas. I know we were never roaming because my phone is set not to work if it's out of network.

We have verizon.... FYI The company I work for built a cell phone tower in Disney. The reception is good there. We have used them many times while on vacation and never had a problem.....

I used T-Mobile from MK to call home (Indiana) in February 2003. No problems at all.

T-mobile here - didn't have any troubles in the parks that I could tell. Actually had to make a business call in between Philamagic and the Carosel. A bit noisy for the other party but they knew they were interrupting my vacation.

Reception in the rooms depend on the location. I didn't get any reception in my room in building 63 at OKW. Had to step out on the balcony. Got great reception in my room in building 62 at OKW when we changed units mid trip.

We used Nextel and Verizon and some other Fla company in our group. No problem.
Some rides do block signals though, like Buzz because it is indoors.

I have Cingular Nation. And I had issues with signal strenth. I NEVER picked up a Cingular signal, but ran off of TMobile all week. Granted w/ Cingular Nation I dont pay Roaming or Long Distance, so if Roaming is charged, you'd eat those minutes QUICK. My signal was horrible, Only like 1 or 2 bars at most. When I talked to BF at night on the cell I had to stay in one spot in the hotel room and NEVER move.

I have heard other carriers work much better. It all depends who you have. Call your carrier and talk to them about the coverage they have in that area.
