My nephew just got back andv said he had no service in WDW. We both have Verizon Wireless. Has any one else encounted no or bad service with Verizon? I've had it fot 3 years down there with no problems.

I was down there with ATT and had a strong signal most of the time. I have heard alot about little or no signal in the rooms at the resort. Could that be when he tried?

Just stay away from Sprint. You walk an inch, you lose connection. You walk another, you get it back. You get inside or behind a building, there goes your conversation. Then you have to play these games looking for the perfect position to put yourself in to be able to talk...It has to be the worst cell phone company ever.

I've never had a broblem with my verizon cell phone in the parks. I do make sure I charge it up the night before. When I was at the Animal Kingdom in 2001, it rained alot, and I ended up calling friends from the park and no problems.

I have Verizon. When we were down there in December, I couldn't get service from PORS. I never tried it in the parks. The calls wouldn't connect but my phone was reflecting a strong signal.
Maybe it's all the Pixie Dust floating around;)

I get almost perfect reception in the parks with T-Mobile (formerly VoiceStream).

My sister works down there and she has verizon and always calls me from inside the parks to brag about where she is.

Well I have Sprint PCS and the only time I have a problem in WDW is in my room. Are the rooms lined with lead or something? :) I was actually shocked when I was on Space Mountain and my phone rang, right as the ride was pulling into the station (and the friends I was with were shocked that I actually answered it). I did lose my signal in the course of the conversation, walking out of SM, but that didn't really surprise me due to the design of the building.

I used to have Cingular, and I had the worst time using that down at Disney World. I couldn't get a reception anywhere. I think I was able to call home twice while I was away.

I now have Sprint, and never had a problem with it. I never lost my connection (and I made some pretty long phone calls on it), and was able to make calls from my room at the POFQ without any problems.

I have AT&T and have not had any problems using it in the parks or resorts (Disney Institute and BWI). Well.....I did have one problem--I was roaming! My bill was:earseek: !

I have T-mobile as well, and really had no trouble. In AK it showed a had a weaker signal than the other parks, but I still was able to call people and brag about where I was:p

My DH & I both have Verizon. We had a few problems at AKL. I had to be by the pool for the best recption, but no problems in the parks.

We have Verizon, and the phone works as long as you are outside. When you go into a building, your call will not go through.

I have Sprint and it has been A-ok. I loose the signal when deep in a ride like Uof Energy but it is strong in the parks and hotels. I do have a new Sprint PCS phone and I think a lot of newer phones have a much better signal. I have only lost a call once.

I have Verizon and I didn't encounter any problems when I was there. Granted, if you are indoors in the Space Mountain queue you may not get service. But I found I had a pretty strong signal the entire trip.

 All-tell has got to be THE worst! Can't get it to work at WDW. I'll be glad come Oct 1st when my contract is up!

I used Cingular in March and had no problems outdoors, indoors, or in poor weather. It even worked on the Pirates (portions of which are beneath ground level) and in our Polynesian room.

Cellular One now is Cingular.

mitros, what service so you have?

We have 2 Sprint cellphones, and our service was very good at WDW. We lost the signal on a couple of rides, but we expected that. Other than that, we didn't have any problems.

:( I have all-tell. Nobody else seems to have all-tell on this thread. We got it through AAA, Worse service I've ever had. Only works real well locally. {in my calling area} Oh, and we use an audiovox cell phone. All-tell blames Audiovox for the problem, audiovox blames all-tell, and AAA is clueless to the whole thing, even though they were very anxious to sell me the deal. Makes me wonder about AAA. :( . Actually, for that matter, makes me wonder about all-tell and audiovox as well !
