cell phone provider????

My kids and I all have Virgin Mobile phones. I've been using a VM prepaid phone for about five years and bought a new phone to use at Christmas. My kids were with Kajeet, but both wanted Smart Phones, so we switched them over at Christmas.

So do you experience any issues with their service??? Which phones do you have???

I bought the android phone for VM, the Samsung Intercept. Actually got several of them. Love it. But someone else's service doesn't mean it is going to work for you. They have a coverage map on the website. Put in your address and see if you have coverage in the area you live or will be in regularly.

Both Virgin Mobile and Radio Shack have 30 day returns, so you are only out the month of service if you cancel. You are not stuck for 2 years like a contract service.

I don't know anyone who uses VM personally. But I read the information on the website and gave it a try. It works even better than I expected.

On the coverage map, they have 3 levels of service: best, good, and fair. A lot of the places I'd want to use it are "good" and some are only "fair". Does anyone have experience with how that translates into the real world for dropped calls, etc.? Do I need to be in a "best" area to make a clear connection?

I think VM uses the Sprint network, so you could ask around and see what kind of service Sprint users have in your area.

Target, Meijer, Walmart all sell the phones. DS has the LG Rumor and it's worked fine for him.

I really think it depends on where you are.

My brother hates tmobile, my mom doesn't like them either. My brother just dumped his contract and paid a hefty fee just to get away from tmobile. I've heard better things about the pre-paid.

I have att and have for years and years and love them. Some people hate them.

DH and I just switched from Sprint to VM. LOVE IT! We have smart phones now. We paid to get out of our contract, and would have paid more (98.00 a month total with no data) with sprint over the coarse of the contract, than to pay for new phones, to get out of the contract, and have data now. Hes on the 25 a month plan and i have the 40 a month plan. We love our new phones. Samsung Intercept, Android. We have no complaints and switched our numbers within hours on a Saturday nite! I thought VM was to good to be true but its awesome!:thumbsup2

It looked a little sketchy in my area as well but I tried it out. Actually fantastic and 3 g everywhere I've tested.
