Just a note on insurance - check into whether it is cheaper to get an electronics rider for your homeowners/renters insurance and whether smartphones are included (they should be). It cost us less for our entire renters insurance policy INCLUDING the electronics rider than it would have been to insure one, let alone two smartphones through the carrier insurance. Most home insurance policies use the same 3rd party for phone claims that the phone companies do, with the same deductible. And I had two claims on my phone in one year (separate dog and child mishaps) and my policy did not incur any surcharges. The good news about electronics riders is that they cover ALL smart devices that you own - computers, laptops, tablets, even Smart TVs - under the same policy.
