Celiac and Disney

Send me a PM with your email address and I will forward a bunch of info for each park that was rec'd from the Disney Diet people. Really helpful stuff.

I've read that they have gluten-free pasta at Tony's Town Square in the MK. I have celiac but don't follow the diet as well as I should. I may try the pasta when we go in Jan. I'm 32 and only found out a year ago that I have it. It's hard giving up all those foods you love after you've eaten them for so long.

Good luck with your search.

Lori princess:

many restaurants have special diet menus. I know San Angel Inn has a special menu for celiac. And surprisingly, celiac resticted eaters can eat the chips, but not the salsa....

I'm not celiac but have a wheat allergy. Disney's great about special diets. Just don't be afraid to let them know in advance.

Yesterday I sent an e-mail to Brenda Bennett about the dessert "problem" that I was running into. My husband has Celiac & was worried about his desserts. I have received an e-mail from Theresa at Epcot & this is what she had to say:

I would recommend Liberty Inn located in American Adventure at Epcot. They can gluten-free products such as gluten-free hamburger/hot dog buns (Gluten-free Pantry), pizza (Amy's), brownies and vanilla cake - no diary products (Gluten-free Pantry). We also have a chocolate flourless cake that is gluten-free but has dairy. Rice Dream milk and ice cream are available also.

Please call or email me with any questions or concerns.

Enjoy your stay!

I will post any other answers I get regarding this subject. I hope this helps some. I have lots of info so let me know if you need anything else. I have also posted this on another Celiac thread.

It really depends on how flexible you're willing to be. In general, Disney does a great job with the gluten free diet. Have it noted on your ADRs. A chef will come out and speak with you, and ask you what you feel like having. Then they'll tell you if you can have it or not. ;) There are always a few things you can have, and if you don't like those things, they can make you something else (chicken and veggies for example). I ate a lot of bunless burgers and roast chickens at CS though. There were salad and salmon options too, IIRC. I think the CS selection would have felt more varied if we hadn't been there for so long, but around day 8, I was dying for something different.
