Celebrity Sitings at Disney?

Huh, I never knew about the plaid vests. In all my years of going to Disneyland, we've only spotted 2 celebs: Kirstie Alley walking by POTC with a group of young girls in 2006, and Wayne Brady boarding TSMM with a couple of boys at DCA in June.

My sister saw Slash from Guns 'n Roses at DL last weekend. :smokin:

Plaids are tour guides. Guys wear the vest and the gals have the pleated skirts with the hat. Celebrities aren't the only ones that can utilize them, anyone can but it costs some big bucks.

If I see anyone famous, I'm not likely to know it. I am terrible at recognizing anyone.

Here at home we went to Benihana's for dinner with my niece last year. We were sat at a table with obvious music people. I asked my DH if it was Keith Richards and he finally whispered that the guy at the end of our table was Alice Cooper. He was eating with his daughter and a couple band members. All of them were VERY very polite and very nice people. At the end, we got a picture of my niece with Alice Cooper. Alice's daugher had to take it for me with my phone because I really had no clue how to use it. That was at Alice's suggestion, too. Something like "let my daughter do it for you, anything with technology we should just let the young ones handle it." Yes, I'm closer to HIS age than to his daughter's. :rotfl:

Oh, yeah. After dinner, my niece asked us if she'd just had dinner with Elvis. She had NO clue at age 9 who Alice Cooper is. :lmao:

I saw and met Jessica Simpson the first time I vacationed to Disneyland. She was just starting to become famous, so I didnt know who she was really, but I had heard the name so I got pictures with her :-)

Paris Hilton made my (then) 2-year old DD, and a bunch of other kids, cry at DL once. And then, to top it off, she shoved her out of the way. She was also in a large group of people, and some of them were wearing t-shirts that said things that were...inappropriate for a family place like Disney. We're not really big Paris fans here.
Who is? :confused3

Heheh.

But sorry to hear about your run-in with that kind of person...
I just hope I never meet any one of those :crazy2:

Twice my sister and I bumped into celebrities. The first was Weird Al during the Remember, Dreams Come True fireworks. He was walking down Main Street toward the exit and my sister yelled, "Hey, it's Weird Al!" He stopped to look our way and then kept going. And then the second one was seeing Ray Bradbury on Halloween in line for HM! It was the coolest thing! That time we got to talk to him and shake hands. :)

Let's see what I can remember.....
Latoya Jackson and parents, Daniel Powder?..is that how you spell it?, Harrison Ford and daughter w/ Calista Flockhart, Britney Spears and her BF, oh yeah they were filming dancing w/ the stars one night we were there, so whoever was there with that.(lol) Thats all I remember off the top of my head.

I think it was somewhere around 1995, but I'm not exactly sure. I was just a teenager and was there performing with my dance group. Some of us were walking near the hub on our way to TL when we noticed a large group of CMs coming through asking people to back up. We stopped to see what was going on and then we could see that it was Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello. Annette was in a wheelchair and was really not looking well. They were quickly wisked in to the Plaza Inn. We assumed they were there for a reason, some appearance or something, but we never heard anything. :confused3

Oh-- I'm jealous. Good for you for recognizing him-- he's my favorite.(Ray Bradbury lol)

Those have to be the two most awesome celebrity sightings so far! I wonder if Ray Bradbury saw The Halloween Tree in Frontierland this year.

I saw Jennifer Connelly (I think) there with her kids. She was with one of those VIP tour guides, so I figured that was her. I also saw some dude from King of Queens - not the main guy. One year, I was there during the Christmas Parade taping, so Ryan Seacrest was hosting.

Ooh and last time, I saw a few food network celebrities. They were hosting a cake competition there and taping it. It was pretty cool. I'm such a food network nerd - I knew all the competitors names already.

we've seen Vanna White filming a promo for Wheel of Fortune at Epcot, Andi McDowell in Epcot when she was reading the Christmas Story at the Candelight Processional, and Scotty from Star Trek when he was getting his hands put in cement at DHS.

Ok, that is COOL. :thumbsup2

There was a thread going on here that had pictures with people's celebrity's sitings. I'm going to find it!

I have seen wayne gretzke!!! That was really awesome. (Im a huge hockey fan)

I have also seen the lead singer to the band P.O.D. with his wife and kid.

But nothing beats seeing the amazing 99!

Courtney - you are I are thinking alike! It was earlier this year - I want to say like March-ish or so - when that celebrity DLR picture thread was running. It started, I think, because someone had met the Girls Next Door (former Hugh Hefner girlfriends, Holly, Bridgette and Kendra) at DLR and then all kinds of pictures were posted with other famous people after that. I COULD be wrong, but I THINK some of the photos that ended up being posted were borrowed from other sources. I am not sure, but it appeared that way. Some were clearly taken by the people posting them, and there was no mistaking that, but I THINK some shots may have been lifted from other entertainment websites, etc. IF I am correct, there could have been legal issues regarding doing that - or even legal issues posting celebrity 'images' in the first place, no matter what the source was. When I tried to locate that thread the last time, it was nowhere to be found! I think it was removed fro DISboards for the possible legal issues that could arise.

I have to admit - that is the main reason why I haven't scanned, uploaded and posted any of my photos here on DIS from when I went to DLR with Bret Michaels back in 1986. I want to, because I figure some people know him from "Rock of Love" on VH1, as well as from Poison. Even though they are MY personal photos and I took them with my camera, I think there could be some legal issues about posting them on a public forum because Bret is now famous (he is no longer "my friend Bret," who I went to DLR with!), and he may have to approve certain images being posted.

I think that is how it works with celebrities - I was just doing some work for one of my clients the other day, and one of the people we were doing work for together had posted a picture of Teri Hatcher on her website. Now, that photo posted was a professional one taken by ABC, so the legal ramifications are different. They were afraid ABC would issue a 'cease and desist' and the picture would have to be taken down. I am not sure if it works the same way if you post your own personal photos that just happen to include a celebrity, but I think it possibly MAY work similarly. Drat!

I haven't posted the ones I have of Travis and Shanna becasue their kids are in them and there is no way I want to post pics of someone else's child - famous parents or not.

Wayne Gretzky lives in Ventura County I believe, so he's fairly close to DLR. Well his son goes to school here. DBF’s little brother’s just played them in football last week, he was at the game, but I didn’t see him. He was my favorite athlete when I was a kid. #99!!

Yeah, Sherry! You read my mind! I was looking for it last night and I couldn't find it so I gave up! I’m sure that’s why it’s gone now. It makes sense and it’s understandable.

Speaking of Bret Michaels, a girl from my city is on/going to be on the Rock of Love 2 Show. I hardly watch it, so I don’t even know if it’s on now…

I wish we COULD keep a thread - actually, a sticky - on celebrity sightings at DLR WITH photos, because you know that they must go all the time. It is a good place for them to blend in normally. Even when Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson went back in October, it probably took a while before they were spotted. There are so many people there, celebrities can literally get lost. In fact, the Plaids only draw more attention to them!!!

Rock of Love 2 was on earlier this year. What is the girl's name? I might remember her. It is a ridiculous show. But they are filming Rock of Love 3 now, so maybe the girl you know is on that one? Anyway, I find it comical. It is weird to see someone that you used to know years and years ago, when they were eating spaghetti sauce out of a jar because they didn't have money for other food, and living in a run down warehouse, now suddenly rich and famous and in limos and private jets, living in huge houses, etc. It is surreal. Bret always had women, though - no shortage there. So Rock of Love seems like it would be almost boring to him, but he is doing a third season, so guess not!!!

Anyway, the trip to DLR back in 1986 was one of the more fun trips I had there, but I can't post any pictures here just to be on the safe side!!!

Amen to this!!! Thank You for refraining. If it's just adults then I say do it, but when the kids are involved no way. :)

Sherry, I would LOVE to see your Bret pics!!! How fun!!!! :)
