My daughter-in-law went to a bookstore in downtown Charleston (WV) today and was in line behind Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck. Jennifer is from Charleston. I guess those rumors in People Magazine are true!!

She didn't get their autographs or a picture, but she said other people got autographs. She said they were nice and friendly, but no mushy stuff.

I think the last famous person I saw was while I was actually working at The Disney Store in North Atlanta, Brett Butler (Comedian, Grace Under Fire) came in with her neice.

I didn't see them personally, but Christopher Plummer, Colin Farrell, and I think Tom Cruise were seen in Williamsburg off-hours because they are filming their movies in the historic areas.

My DIL is lucky. Last year before they moved back here, she worked at Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Lexingotn, KY. (A great store, btw). When Bruce Springsteen was in town for a concert at Rupp Arena, he came into the store to browse. She said it was very cool.

We just saw Kelly Ripa and her family a few weeks ago at the Atlantis Aquarium on Long Island. She was trying to get a table at the snack bar for her kids and hubby, forgot his name! It was kind of funny and refreshing because she looked like all the other mothers there grabbing a table when it became available with her daughter. They grabbed the table next to ours. I had no idea who she was, my mother got excited when she noticed. And started whispering "Thats Kelly!!!" I'm thinking, who the heck is Kelly? Once a few people started saying hello, I figured it out. No one really bothered her at all, they would say hello, she would say hello back and that was it. No pictures, no autographs were asked for, atleast while we were there.

It was so nice to see a celeb acting just like us. Since we live 1/2 way between NYC and the Hamptons, we see a lot of spoiled celebrities. They didn't ask for or expect any special treatment. Her DH waited on line with the kids, and they all ate those crappy snack food burgers like the rest of us! One of the boys even started to have a little meltdown and they handled it so well, just like most "normal" parents.

I never really cared about Kelly Ripa, one way or the other. (Didn't hate her, Didn't love her) But I was really impressed with her and her family that day.

I almost got run over by Michelle Pfeiffer's stroller at DL years ago. While I was busy cursing under my breath about whoever wasn't looking where they were going, DH asks me, "Did you see who that was?" I said, "Who?" He says, "The lady with the stroller? It was Michelle Pfeiffer!" I smugly replied, "Oh, you mean the lady that nearly mowed me down?" LOL! When I finally looked up, there was the backside of a skinny lady in jeans accompanied by a CM, making her way down Main St.

Some friends and I saw Forest Whittaker walking down Melrose Ave. one night. I've seen Beck too, in OC somewhere. A friend and I kept staring at him and he just stared right back.

DH had Melanie Griffith sitting near him on a plane once, too. Said she didn't look anywhere near what she looks like on the telly.
