Celebrity Family Fued

This isn't the show most of us grew up watching ( the original ) and life isn't the same either , good, bad, or indifferent.
I did not watch the celebrity episode. However, I made the assumption a couple months ago we'd try to watch it... "Hey, I remember liking this show when I was younger, you kids might like it too!" ummm... no, definitely NOT the same show.

I don't care who runs the show or where, but I won't be watching. I don't find it as entertaining as I remember. I do remember some answers (MG, FF, etc) being risque for the sake of a joke, but I feel the Steve Harvey version of FF feels the questions need to be risque. Sorry, just not my style. If someone else wants to watch it, more power to them.

ABC owes all parents an apology. They should have thrown something up there stating "May not be appropriate for children" It was really terrible that they would bill this as a family show.[/QUOTE]

ABC is owned by Disney Corporation.

No they don't owe anyone an apology . They make money with what is deemed popular. They aren't the parents. Isn't the show syndicated anyway ? I believe so. Why not complain to the local carrying station and ask for a scrolling disclaimer or something ?

Ever listen to Radio Disney ? That has changed tremendously since I first heard it late 1990's. All of it isn't little kid friendly either. http://music.disney.com/radio-disney

You ( collectively not personally ) really think TDC cares if you complain about anything ?

How old are the kids some of you had watching?

Do your "young" children really knows what "endowed" means? Or what a condom is? If they do know, what's the big deal? If they don't know, don't you know how to play off a question you don't want to answer?

If you continued watching after the first question shocked you--that's on you, you can't blame ABC, Steve Harvey or anyone else.

Personally I think Steve Harvey is hilarious and if not for his sense of humor and the innuendos to keep the show funny, who would watch it?

I don't understand why you kept watching.

Ha! That is the question of the decade! I sat mortified during the 1st question, but thought "Well, it cant gt worse than that"..and it did. I was thinking the same with each of the 3 first questions. Fast money came next and the question were OK. Then they brought out 2 new families. I then thought...OK, now it will be back to the family fued I remember, loved watching, playing online, playing the board game (more like connect 4 set up) when I was a kid. They asked a question about church! YEAH!! Not.....#1 answer was condoms. I shut it off then.....WAY too late.

I didn't watch Celebrity Family Feud, but I have watched the regular Steve Harvey version. There's not much innuendo going on. It's all pretty direct. I would not watch with young kids. I do agree though that if I didn't know that going in, it's on the viewer to change the channel.

My daughter didnt know, and I did try to play it off telling her they wanted to know what animal was larger than a person. Then Hung like a horse was mentioned, which had nothing to do with my explanation, then the Walrus' ***** was mentioned several times. How do you play that off?

No, I dont, which is why I didnt complain to them, but thought maybe I could get some support here.

Wasn't it on at 8pm? That means it's prime time, which the networks themselves control. Yes, an affiliate can pre-empt a show, but that comes with other problems.

Best explanation I saw so far: page 2 post 39 Katieleed ( I probably got that wrong )

Yes, there is a syndicated version of the show (and Steve Harvey is the host). But the show the OP was complaining about (Celebrity Family Feud), is NOT syndicated, and can only be seen on ABC network affiliates.

Got it; I stand corrected. Learn something everyday. What do I know? I watch free Fox News on the internet and Hulu. Haven't had regular cable TV in about 7 yrs.

Well, since the show is on ABC, most people don't need cable to watch it... it's available for free over the air. :thumbsup2 You might want to see if you can pick up anything OTA. It comes in handy for sporting events (if anyone in your household likes that kind of thing).

Aw man, I thought the drama was over how boring the show was :( I don't know what I was expecting. I guess I watch too many SNL celebrity family feud parodies... I thought it was going to be different than the normal episodes.

It was pretty similar to the normal episodes. Definitely not family friendly at all, and I understand that many families were shocked. If I had young kids, I'd have turned it off after the first question, no doubt. I definitely would have been angry as well.

Sunday nights on ABC aren't exactly for small children, however. I would not consider it's usual programming, Once Upon a Time, to be suitable for younger children, either. Except for the holiday season, I never really see anything family friendly on big networks.

Believe me where I live I could stand on the roof with an antennae and point it in every direction possible and the only thing I would get is struck by lightning every evening. It's okay I can live with what I can watch.

The only sport I care about are the big horse races and that I can watch live just by being registered with the betting site with Churchill Downs. Good enough for me and saves a ton of $$ every month.

I was just thinking, it would be like sitting down one day a few years from now to watch say, Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune, only to find out they had switched formats to all porn / sex / sleaze for every category. lol I don't blame some people for being disappointed. I did, by the way, turn it off after literally one question, but that was more because I had no idea who the celebrities even were.

Maybe the fact that it is called "Family" Feud leads people to believe it is a family friendly show? I thought it was awful, as was AFV, I find nothing funny in their clips of people hurting themselves in ridiculous ways.
While there have been a number of shows with Family in the title that are appropriate for a wide age range, there have also been shows like "Family", "Family Guy", "An American Family", "Family Business", "Family Law"...
