Celebrity Apprentice

My predictions for the final task teams:

Debbie Gibson
Lisa Lampanelli (she will be fired eventually)
Lou Ferigno
Victoria Gotti

You think Victoria will come back? She seemed pretty bitter that Trump fired her. I'm thinking Theresa is going to be fired next week and will come back.

I think Arsenio makes it through next week. When the last year's CA finalists ask who won the most money, this week really sealed Arsenio as one of the top winners of the people left.

Lisa is just absolutely crazy.

Aubrey is so full of herself...and I hope to goodness that her telling Don Jr how "wonderful" she is comes back to bite her in the butt at some point.

I actually felt bad for Dayna... I think she was waaaaayyyy out of her league with this task. She didnt know American music, or the defintion of a jingle etc. I think she was so out of place and trying too hard that it did frustrate Clay and Lisa. Esp Clay who music it totally his thing!

Dayana's painful but Lisa is doing herself a disservice by lashing out like she does. She creates a diversion that until last night let Dayana look more like a victim then the real problem. She was so out of her league this week. Why didn't she put herself on stage for her task when she was pouting about being on the sidelines for the puppet challenge? Her instincts are off.

Aubrey needs a healthy dose of humility. She is talented and she is a fast thinker. But she has to learn to stop steamrolling the people on her team. I am waiting for Don Jr to post his blog to see how he felt about Aubrey's claim to fame on this task.

I think Lisa is a low class bully. She who yells loudest doesn't always win.

I have a new appreciation for Clay. I like those that play with class, like Trace Adkins did a few seasons back.

Aubrey needs a spanking she's been a real brat.

Arsenio, still not a fan.

Theresa not sure why she is still there??

The people remaining are, for the most part, awful people. Let's look:

Aubrey: She's so full of herself she's likely to choke on her own hair. I've never seen anyone so delusional about themselves. Nobody has ever heard of her or that awful band she was in. She advocates for an anti-bullying group and she's the biggest bully out there! So we can add hypocrite to her laundry list of personality flaws. She dishes it out but cannot take criticism. She throws people under the bus before the bus is even moving! What a terrible individual.

Lisa: Clearly suffering from "the change". Moody, erratic, flys of the handle or cries at the drop of a hat. Unstable. Now, on the other hand, she IS smart and reasonably talented, but her instability is a huge problem. Not a surprise she is friends with Aubrey.

Arsenio: In a word...spineless. He just sat back and let Aubrey steam roll his project and then pouted about it. He seems like a nice enough guy but we know where nice guys finish.

Theresa: The light is on but nobody is home. She appears to be a go getter and a hard worker but dumb as a stump with nothing of value to offer.

Clay: The lesser of the evils. I like him, but he can get a bit catty. I was surprised to see him go off on Dayana (who may have deserved it) but when other people were angry at her he just sat back. It wasn't until she stepped in his business that he went nutty. HE says stuff to the cameras that he wouldn't say to peoples faces but that may be a good strategy.

Of this lackluster bunch (my original hope was for Penn) I am going with Clay.

Theresa not sure why she is still there??

I've been saying that the last several weeks. :confused3 :lmao:

According to the edit, she's a great worker bee, but shouldn't have gotten this far.

I've only watched a couple of this season's shows (and had only seen it once I think of any other season) but I have read this thread ;) I was just appalled by that Lisa Lampenelli :scared1: Any of merit that she may have had to say, was drowned out by all her nasty name calling and cussing. There isn't any reason to speak to someone that way in this situation. And Lisa kept going on about how educated SHE is and about how she works in a man's world-well I had no idea she was supposedly so smart till SHE told me! :rotfl: I certainly didn't pick that up from her behavior or words! And I also work in a male-dominated job, so I don't buy her excuse for treating anyone that way-I certainly don't!

I was dissapointed in Clay. I like him and I'm suprised that he seemed so fine with what Lisa said to Dayana. Lisa made it sound like Clay was right on board with it all, including the cursing at Dayana and the personal attacks. Maybe he was  And what was their problem with her English? Have they never worked with a person who's first language is not English, or had a manager at work who is not a native English speaker? It seemed to be such a huge issue for them, like they could not deal with it.

This show is so weird. The rules seem so fluid.

So..are you saying you are in broadcasting so you can call people names and insult them? Do you have your own show? Is that what you do in broadcasting? Because for sure the desk job people don't act like her.

It's the environment, it's mostly ALLOWED. I got into radio as my first job out of college and I was SHOCKED!! The weird part was I ended up just like them after 7 years there.:scared:

When I moved South people were a bit more gentile. I interviewed for a few jobs outside of broadcasting and they were very demure and quiet. I went on an interview for a radio station and during the interview there was a loud cuss filled tirade outside the door. I told the interviewer who was about to apologize.. "I'm HOME!" I worked there in "4 letter ville" for 14 years.

I've worked outside of the business a few times and felt muzzled. I got into TV in 2007 and and feel much better here.

OTOH I'm not excusing Lisa's behavior. Her tirades are insecurity based and disgusting. I'm just making a point that her business is not banking, it's just much more tolerant of that kind of behavior.

Her lack of English was a problem. They were writing a song not a speech. Lyrics need to have a certain alliteration and musicality to them. They words have to fit together and roll off of each other in a way that is pleasing to the ear.

If you've ever read Shakespeare out loud, the combination of words/sounds together are very pretty. There isn't a lot of guttural sounds or stops & plosives, unless they fit the moment. We are LUCKY that he wrote in the English language so we can hear how pretty his LANGUAGING is - and I don't just mean in English.

I have read translations of ancient Greek tragedies, translated by Greeks, not people who speak English as a first language or are very fluent in English, and you can hear it, even while reading silently. They have massacred the text. They may be a literal translations. But, no one speaks the way they write. The plays are all recited, so that should have and would have been a consideration by someone truly fluent in English.

Songs also have to have the number of syllables fit within the musical phrasing. THIS is where Dayana butted in where she shouldn't have. The lyric was already written. The melody for the phrase were picked out. He was already rehearsing with the backup singers. The ship had already sailed on the time to brainstorm lyrics. She tried to insert herself by wanting Clay to add FIVE syllables into the song in which only three syllables fit in total. She couldn't understand that concept.

Plus she really only was trying to insert stuff so that SHE could feel she contributed and seemed important. It was the same as when she wanted to sit next to Lisa to come up with lyrics. Jingle usually are campy and rely on catchy cliche phrases that are already familiar enough to people to be memorable. Someone with a lack of real fluency of the English language isn't going to have that.

She also couldn't RHYME. I forget the exact words, but "task" does not rhyme with "man." Yes, they are both single syllables, but they do not rhyme. She didn't understand that concept or she couldn't hear which words rhyme. She also doesn't have enough command of English vocabulary to choose like words that would rhyme and have the meaning she needs.

Awful yes, but to the network, ratings gold!

Face it, would we turn it on at all if there wasn't an inkling in our head to see the "villains" get their due? Seriously, it's the reason I stopped watching Big Brother and Survivor, usually the slime wins because it takes manipulation and lies to make it on both of those shows. A turn off.

...I've never, ever watched either - wow, I didn't realize there was greed and deception on these two shows, too...:confused3

I get you Robin. "the biz" is very different from corporate America. My husband and I both worked in television for many years (news photographers) and we fit in really well. As a chick I had to have a THICK TOUGH skin and be able to run with the boys. There was a LOT of language and innuendo. I am surprised nobody ever got slapped with a harassment lawsuit at our station cause those guys were raunchy...but you know what? So was I! I gave as good as I got (and eventually got a husband out of it who rolls like I do).

Oh Lord yes. It's dog eat dog in mostly every entity I ever worked in. The one exception seemed to be the ABC affiliate here in town. Run like an INSURANCE company! I had a LOT of friends who moved over there and were completely out of place! :lmao:

I hired a lady who retired from there as an assistant when I worked in cable. My boss at the time had a mouth like Lisa Lampanelli and she was appalled and disgusted. She learned to deal with it but was so disgusted she resigned. I told her she'd better stay in retirement because everywhere is not like that place. :rolleyes1

I can roll with the big dogs, too, Jennasis, Brooklyn training was good for something! :lmao:

But Clay said in the boardroom that he agreed with Lisa's sentiment about Dayna but not her words or phrasing. I think Clay would have been much more cordial in saying she stunk as PM than Lisa with her ranting and raving.

I think age (not understanding that 60s is not just hippies), culture (not understanding American music history) and language (not understanding terminology like jingle or rhyming) are what did Dayna in and made the task more difficult. I think she was trying, I think her teammates were under such stress to get the job done, and knew what they were doing that even someone like Clay snapped.

It would be awesome of she won CA. She would single-handedly turn the Trump Organization on its head.

Except, from what I gather from this thread, that won't be possible... since there is no job. The only reward for winning this season of Celebrity Apprentice is the $250,000 charity donation? At least, that's what I gather from the conversation a few pages back.

This season is a joke.

But what if the someone WAS a backstabbing, sneaky b word? :confused3

In the corporate world, if you volunteered to be the lead on a task that you had no clue as to what it was, (I WANT TO BE IN CHARGE OF THE JINGLE!!!!! Uhhh.....What's a jingle?) you would be sunk. And if you insisted on trying to write a non-rhyming jingle with lines of hideously unbalanced length, they would laugh you out of the room. And if you looked at the musicians and suggested they play the song "pink" or "yellow" or "green", they would look at you as if you were a nutjob or an idiot. Oh wait.....the band actually DID look at her as if she was mentally impaired. :rotfl2:

When you have to waste a couple of hours of a task essentially teaching AMERICAN JINGLES FOR DUMMIES to the project manager, it is little wonder the other team members have an overwhelming urge to strangle said dummy. Especially when she pouts that she is underutilized and pushed off to the side. Lisa was right. Dayana was channeling Lou. She stopped just short of insisting she always gives 110%. :lmao:

It's irrelevant what the task is, how it got assigned, or how incompetent the PM is. You simply don't call people the b word over and over and over like that.

And Robin, yes I get your point that Lisa works in a different industry. However, at this moment in time (taped shows but still), she is Corporate America (that's what Trump's Organization is). And in Trump's Organization, they don't call women the b word over and over and over. Perhaps Trump has done it from time to time behind closed doors but nobody else does. And neither should Lisa. I thought Trump should have canned her as well as Dayana.

MTE...I was really thinking double elimination...especially after Trump brought up swapping Dayana and Aubrey. I htought he might do the switch and then fire Dayana anyway and say Lisa was out too~basically taking 1 from each team then.

Yeah I agree with this. I grew up in the Restaurant Business, and I'm not sure it gets more raunchy than that. I started at 14 and got out 2 years ago. My conversations on the back line with my cooks are not the same conversations I now have when speaking to VP's of International companies. I think that to be successful in anything you have to adapt to your surroundings. Like the lady Robin mentioned who resigned, she couldn't be around that and got out. She couldn't adapt. There are several reasons that she shouldn't be there, and frankly, her treatment of Dyana isn't the most prominent. I probably would've fired her after the second crying fit. Funny how she made a frowny face and ran her finger down the side of her face like a tear trying to make fun of Dyana during the task, but yet she can't get through a single episode without losing it. That does not portray the Tough Chick image that her vulgarity lends itself to. I mean, put on your big girl panties, for the love of Pete! I really liked her before this show, but not now.

That's how Celebrity Apprentice has always worked. The only time the winner actually gets a job in the Trump organization is on the original Apprentice show.
