It was so obvious. Besides, the boardroom scene is very long and they edit it down to what we see. They seem to manage to leave their silly high school tit for tat in there for some reason.

This isn't a group of amateurs trying for a job with the Trump organization, this is a group of celebrities providing entertainment for charity. You hear them slip up and call him "Donald' instead of "Mr. Trump" because they have a relationship with him outside the show. There are rumors about who has a "no fire" clause in their contract, so that they can't be fired until a certain number of episodes have been films.
