Celebrities that have DVC?

I actually feel a little sorry for celebrities who need special treatment just to enjoy a visit to WDW. Doesn't "back-door" treatment mean going through the utility corridors at the Magic Kingdom.? I've been on the tour and it would ruin a lot of the magic for me. I'd rather stand in line and be left alone. :cool2:

For my dd's 13th birthday, I brought her and a few friends to Hershey Park, PA to see Hanson (remember them?). The park was jammed packed. At the hotel the next morning the front desk clerk told me his wife worked in the park. Because Hanson drew such a crowd, and there was a mob scene outside waiting for their departure, Hershey opened their major rides to the band and their crew for a little bit after hours. Then they loaded them onto to the tour bus and sent them on their way, the sceaming teeney boppers long gone by then. I am thinking Disney would have a more sophisticated plan.

I agree......I would never, ever desire this kind of lifestyle.

Also, just because celebrities (like Bon Jovi) have constant revenue their entire lives doesnt mean that they aren't smart with their money. I understand that sport celebrities might have to make better investments because the sports income might be short lived but who says that "regular" celebrities dont make smart investments too.

I don't know if Jimmy Carter owns DVC, but he was at OKW once when my DH was there with his Dad for Braves spring training a few years back.

Stars get special treatment. A couple summers ago we went to Disneyland. Courteney Cox and her husband David Arquette were there with their daughter and nanny. I was in line for the Indy ride and they actually stopped the ride to let them on by themselves. They were escorted past the line by their Disney guide. They were walking around the park, though.

I mentioned something to someone standing in line by me that it must be nice to pass the lines and he said he comes alot and you see "stars' often. I guess the locals that typically go to Disneyland see this alot. Disneyland has more locals going than WDW.

Same for Celine Dion and her family. We saw them several times over a couple days. They even were in the Downtown area they have at Disneyland with the Disney guide. Also, walked around the park with no problems.

.

I'm pretty sure he is a member. He was there one year when we were, the week after Christmas. I asked him about OKW once at a book signing, and he said he really liked the place.
Also, there is a major league baseball manager who we met one time at BWV, but I can't remember who it is. I didn't know who it was, but my buddy did and had a nice talk with him.

In a trip to Disneyland back in '04, we saw Cal Ripken Jr. and his family, and Pierce Brosnan and his---both without Disney guides, just walking around the park.

Most guests let them be---I was in line behind Brosnan, as we were each buying our kids swords in Pieces of Eight. But, my wife is a native Baltimorean, and just had to get Ripken's autograph. She went up by herself (I didn't want to drag the whole family into his vacation), and said he was very gracious about the whole thing.

As an aside: Ripken is a lot taller than I thought he'd be. Brosnan is a lot shorter. ;)

I was also at DLR during one of the ABC Weekends, and there were TV stars everywhere. Most had Disney guides escorting them, but not all.

We were at HHI two years ago and there was a family that arrived in a huge Limo with a "Disney" vanity plate. They were checking in as we were leaving and I was on the elevator with the mom. Like an idiot, I asked if they were celebrities and the mom said "Do you watch the Disney channel?"

Sadly - I had to answer truthfully that I don't.

I still don't know who they were!! :rotfl:

I dont watch the Disney Channel much either but the fact that it had a personal plate that said DISNEY makes me really want to know who it was. Any guesses from anyone out there that watches the DC?

I've heard stories of MJ visiting Saratoga Springs. Makes me wonder who Disney lets see their children >.>

DC

I believe Tommy LaSorda, the ex-Dodgers manager, owns. I know he's a big Disney fan and we see him all the time at DL and at the Napa Rose. He hangs out at the lounge there and used to even to a radio show from there.

Nancy

Steven Curtis Chapman were at Vero when we were there this past spring break! Don't know if owns, tho.

I used the Orange County Comptroller's web site (http://or.occompt.com/recorder/eagleweb/docSearch.jsp) to check on celebrity memberships.

From what I found, some of you may be disappointed. I searched every celebrity name (real names, not stage names) previously mentioned. The truth is, not many of the celebs are members, at least not individuals. They may have used a corporation to join, but I'm not about to search for celebrity production companies, record labels, etc. I don't have much to do, but I have to draw the line somewhere.

Confirmed Celebrities with DVC Memberships

That's a great idea, checking that website, but would it have the contracts from Vero or HH? I think the deeds are registered where the property is, correct? Or maybe not.

It only has the properties in Orange County...

This topic came up several years ago, and for some reason, I remember the fellow who played Gopher on The Love Boat is a member. Fred Grandy:confused3 might be his name.
