My friend, who has cruised many DCL cruises on the Magic, said that most of her cruises had a celebrity on board giving a talk or demonstration of some sorts. Is this true for all DCL cruises? If so, how do we find out who will be on our cruise?....Thanks

I don't know how you can find out before you cruise. On our March 20th cruise we had sports announcer and former pro football player Lynn Swann and his family. He gave a couple of talks on the sea days. Other than that he and his family were normal cruisers just like the rest of us. Kathy

Two years ago Whitney Houston was on with Bobby Brown and her child.Even tho I didn't see it,my tablemates said she sang in Studio Sea...karaoke !Can you image the poor soul who followed her !:o

We were on the 12-27-03 Eastern, and afterwards I read here there was some actress on board, but I never saw her that I know of. She wasn't on board to entertain, just on vacation.
When my wife and I took our first cruises in the '80s on the Norway, the Entertainers were always folks you had seen on TV.
Shields and Yarnell, Norm Crosby, Jack Jones and the Fifth Dimension were all featured entertainers on those cruises we went on, and you'd run into them all over the ship. I even got to play a pickup game of basketball on board with the members of the Fifth Dimension.
They always had a sports celebrity on board too, Moses Malone was on one trip, and an NFL quarterback named Nixon was on another. (sorry, I don't follow football)

on our last cruise the girl who voiced LILO was on board and did several talks and autogragh signings. she was there wilth her family on a vactaion.

We were the on the Wonder the first week of December and Raven Symone from the Cosby Show and Disney Channel's That's So Raven, was in the state room next us. But she only went out of the room for dinner and to do one talk and autograph session. From what I heard from other passengers who ran into her on the elevator, they said she was very rude. I guess a man was with his daughter and they tried to talk to Raven in the elevator and she completely ignored them. Although we did run into her mom on several occasions and ended up hanging out with her and she was very nice.

Not on DCL but on Carnival we ran into Frank and Kathie Lee Gifford and yep she was just as annoying and bubbly in person as she is on TV! LOL But she was very nice! They were doing a commercial for Carnival on board when we were...nice couple but man that girl has way too much happiness for one person to bear at 7:30 am!

I also read a report on the 12/27 cruise and I think the actress is question was Andie McDowell, who was in "Four Weddings and a Funeral" and "Groundhog Day". My DH wouldn't mind running into her!

We were also on the 12/27/03 cruise. The actress that was on board was Andie McDowell. My DS and I were coming out of the theater from seeing Disney Dreams and she and her DD was right behind us. I thought my son was going to burst! Even though she didn't say anything to us, she did smile at him and me.

On our July cruise in 2002 Joe Namath was on the cruise. Also ont he 12/27/03 cruise the actor that plays Pumba on Broadway was also on board. Went to one of his talks.

We were disembarking the Magic's Eastern cruise that started 01/10/04 and boarding that day (01/17/04) for the 01/17/04 cruise to the Western was Jim Belushi and the cast of According to Jim to film for two shows. We didn't get to see him, but got to see lots of our new friends and familiar places on the ship on the 2 shows that aired. The CM's were excited about them coming aboard. It was fun to relive it at the end of February and show our friends.

We have had "celebrities" on 2 cruises that we have been on (that I know of)

One was Roger Clemmons, is he a baseball player???? He signed autographs one day, I saw him walking on deck.

The other was some basketball player, whose name I don't remember at all. I saw him and his family on Castaway Cay and I think he also did an autograph session. A man at our dining table, said that he was standing next to this basketball player out on deck at like 2am and that he talked to him briefly.

(Can you tell I don't follow sports!!!!!:p )
