Celebrities at Disney?

We saw Jim Belushi at Disneyland a couple of years ago. We where in the longgg line for Small World when he & his group passed with a CM to get on the ride. I was so close, I could have touched him. I didn't even recognize him and my husband asked me if I knew who that is - and, as soon as he told me, I was in awe! I recognized him immediately! I think I need new glasses 'cause I never recognize anybody. Maybe that's what I'll tell the optomitrist next time I visit - fix my vision so I can recognize celebrities at Disney parks;o)

We were there the first weekend of December '04 when they were filming the Christmas Parade--very cool :flower: . We saw Regis and Kelly, as well as Faith Ford (???--hope and faith). Kelly and Faith were taking their kids on the Rockin' Rollercoaster as we were getting off. Shadaisy (SP???) was also performing.

We just got back from WDW about an hour ago. We were at the Magic Kingdom last night...(full trip report coming soon). DH and I had staked out our viewing area on the balcony of the Railroad station. If you know the area, you'll remember that you can watch people as they go beneath the station then they climb the stairs to the train. Anyway...my husband was "people watching", when he turned to me and said some guy just went under the station that sure looks like Wayne Newton. My first reaction was "sure, DeWayne," cause he's always kidding around, but then the man came walking right up the staircase behind us, and sure enough...this guy was the spittin' image of Mr. Newton. There was a CM sweeping up popcorn who saw him too. We all looked at each other and I mouthed the words "was that him?" to the CM. He shrugged his shoulders then motioned that he was going to find out. He came back a few minutes later and said..."yep, that was Wayne Newton." He was taking a private tour with his family and was preparing to board the train. My sons and grandsons were in Frontierland taking their last rides on Splash and Big Thunder. I called them on our Cell and found out that they were done and waiting for the train to take them back to Main Street. When they got on the train, they sat 3 benches in front of Mr. Vegas himself. My oldest son had his video camera with him and actually managed to get some video of Mr. Newton, although he did so as discreetly as possible. The scenes are in the dark and not clear, but he did get some. That was a pretty incredible way to end our vacation. :Pinkbounc

Forget the name of the bar at the Animal Kingodm Lodge but its the one in the lobby above Jiko and the buffet.......anyway was sitting at a table having drinks with a couple friends when suddenly I notice everyone is looking up the stairs where you come down from the lobby......well I'll be damned if it isn't John Travolta and Kelly Preston coming down the stairs and they procede to sit at the table right behind us, I mean if I lean back we bump heads......anyway they end up staying for a couple hours (and naturally so did we)...........I guess he was to be the starter for the Daytona 500 the following week or so and was staying at the AKL for a week before it with his kids.......Believe it was early Feb 0f 2002 but might have been 2003......we go to Disney every year in late Jan/early Feb on a golf trip.......

So I'm eating at the pepper market in the csr and who sits next to me but Vanilla Ice. He was there with his brother and thier family (I think, could have been a friend) Later that week saw him at the dig site pool.

Not sure if this counts as it was not at WDW but on the flight to Florida.

A very distinguished gentlemen was stnading behind us on the security line when airport employees came and escorted him through the lines. As he passed us I realized it was TONY BENNETT. I dearly dropped to the floor. Well, needless to say he was on our flight. We passed him sitting in First Class (American) and my then 4 year old daughter noticed him and screamed "Mom, there's that guy from Seasame Street" (He sings a song on one of the shows). Everyone around started to giggle. He looked over at my dd and ds, winked and gave them the thumbs up.

Amazing how each generation has their own reason for knowing who certain entertainers are.

monorail ramps into Epcot....

Or boys - then 5 - were soooooooo excited. :goodvibes One of them kept bouncing ahead of us, skipping along - and bounced right into a VERY tall gentleman and his wife.

Ooops..our son fell down, and the man stumbled a little..we ran up, apologizing profusely, and the man kindly said, as he helped put our guy back on his feet:

"That's ok, little man, I'm excited too"..

I'm like: "Your voice sounds so familiar..." As we thank him again, and we're walking away...

Morgan Freeman.

:sunny:

This is really cool.. I have never seen anyone famous anywhere, at least that I have noticed :confused3 :confused3

While I was on my CP, I met Eric Estrada (sp?) from the show Chips. Believe it or not that is the most famous person I saw at Disney the entire time I was down there. Well, I saw Tiger Woods from a loooooooooon distance away, but I don't count that. Plus, he lives right next door, I am sure that is a regular sighting for a lot of CMs.

My family and I were in the "world" for the 50th Celebration Opening in early May. We saw Paige Davis (Trading Spaces) soooo mannyy times! I was afraid she thought we were stalking her. :smooth:

Actually, I had my bubble burst about her. I was in the bathroom at Cinderellas, in a stall, and heard her talking to her friend about a crabby little boy (Imagine, at Disney). She said to her friend, "That is exactly why I'm never having a kid." I saw her the next day in a gift shop in Epcot. Her friend was excited about a frame and showed it to Paige. She suggested that they put the picture they had taken the night before. Paige said, "I would NEVER put that thing in my home." This made me want to go and give the friend a hug, but I suppose that would really look like I was stalking.

The third time I saw her (I swear I wasnt' stalking her!!!!), she was having her picture taken with two ladies who were so excited to see her. She was so nice and enthusiastic. Will the real Paige please stand up.

I saw Mickey Rooney (I know him from Pete's Dragon) at the opening of One Man's Dream and I also met Michael Eisner...I was excited 'bout that because I remember during the late 80s and early 90s watching the Disney movie on Sun nights and he was the host....Julie Andrews was also there at the time but I never got to go meet Mary Poppins in person :(

Last May we saw lots! We sat next to Wayne Brady at Brown Derby, walked right past Vanilla Ice pushing a stroller in the Countries at Epcot, and sat RIGHT next to "Puddy" from Seinfeld in Japan at the Sushi bar (he is also at the beginning of Soarin' telling you instructions on the monitor. I think he was there for the 50th Birthday celebration). Also, we think we saw Gabrille Union because everyone was taking her picture and someone said that was who it was.
It was awesome! :earsgirl:

Hmmm , I've been reading this thread for a while now, but just remembered this b/c of a recent post... saw Michael Eisner and some equally important guys getting in the front monorail car a couple years ago- I guess my only emotion I register when I see these"important"(VERY large quotes) people in the parks is generally irritation that they're getting special treatment, and my kids still have to stand in line, I don't know, I guess maybe they're paying to get to the front of the lines, but I suspect more often than not it's just b/c they're well known and get to be "special"- Not M Eisner,'cause he's the owner and all, but from some other posts it sure sounds like you had to wait longer to let these groups ahead of you- ok, Sorry, all done ranting- so I guess really my problem is seeing someone famous doesn't get me too excited...maybe I'm missing out, maybe if it was Captain Jack Sparrow, then I wouldn't mind.... :rotfl:

Last year we were always in the right place at the right time......

In the ATL aiport we saw Dre from OutKast. He was dressed real low key..... At MCO we saw Aaron Tippin ( country music singer ) with his family... Then at Disney ( MGM ) we saw :lovestruc Hayden Christensen :lovestruc outside of the Star tours ride...... He was dressed way low key! Of course I was with my hubby, but if hubby had not been there I would have lost it..... I am a grown woman, but that boy is fine!!!! He really acted like he did not want to be bothered so we let him be... I know if I was famous, I would like my alone time... So, out of respect, we let him be... But, like I said, if I was by my self I would have lost all self control!!!!.... :rotfl2:

Gosh I am soooooo jealous. I would've loved to meet hayden. If I saw him...I think I would embarress myself. lol

At disney we've seen:

Justin Timberlake
Cameron Diaz

And, this past June, as we were getting on Soarin we noticed that they had roped off 2 middle rows. There were bodyguards everywhere and they ushered a large group in. We couldn't tell who it was until we got off and asked....

It was Celiene Dion and her childeren along with some friends. :earseek:

*Cough* Paige is a fake *cough*

We were on the ferry from MK to WC for Hoop Dee Doo and there was only one other family on there with us. My husband recognized the woman as Shauna Sand, a Playboy Playmate. Leave it to him to recognize her, but then we remembered that she was married to Lorenzo Lamas and lo and behold there he was sitting behind us. My husband seemed to care about her more so than him. Big shocker. Anyway, he was very nice. Told us about their stay and how much they were enjoying it at the Grand Floridian (where else?). They ended up sitting next to us at the Hoop Dee Doo.

My friend used to work at the Grand Floridian front desk and she said there were always celebrities there. Her favorite was Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. She said he was a doll.

In May 2002 Teppanyaki in Japan Maurice Bernard (Sonny from GH) was at the table next to us with his wife and a CM. He is just as sexy in person. I was eating dinner with my parents and I totally embarrassed my dad on how I acted.

I love him.

Somebody earlier said they saw Tim Burton and Susan Sarandon together. I'm assuming the person meant Tim Robbins and Sarandon since they are a couple. :)
