Celebrities and the blinding teeth

Oops, this thread reminded me it is time to go put my Crest White Strips on!

I haven't seen Dr Phil's teeth yet. But, when I saw this thread I also immediately thought of Hillary Duff! Those teeth look so ridiculous!! Also ever notice how funny some of them talk now? It's like their teeth are too big/long for their mouth and they aren't use to them so it sounds as if they have a lisp or just can't talk right!! It is so distracting. Who is telling these celebs this looks good? :confused3

Exactly what I think whenever I see my two offenders - Martin Sheen & James Brown. Everytime I see/hear Martin Sheen on Leno, I *swear* his teeth actually clack! And James Brown had some PBS special on this week, maybe an American Masters?...the poor man can barely speak clearly anymore, nevermind how he manages to even *sing*.

I noticed Hillary's weight-loss(does anybody think she looks *better*?), but hadn't noticed she was looking a little "long in the tooth" these days :rolleyes1 ...

If I were one of these singers I would be hesitant about getting cosmetic work done on my teeth, simply because the work might drastically alter my "sound".

agnes!

Like this? :teeth:

Notice the difference in her upper and lower teeth??? Why would anyone do that on purpose???? And actually PAY to have it done?? :confused3

This is exactly why Freddie Mercury never changed his teeth.

As for Hilary...all I can say for her new look is
"NEIGH!" :lmao:

I had never heard that, but it makes sense! Concern about altering her singing voice is also supposedly the reason Barbra Streisand never bowed to pressure to get her nose "fixed". I guess some performers don't care that by getting extensive (purely) cosmetic work done on their teeth (or purely cosmetic work done on their nose) that they are then changing their natural sounding board and altering their voice.

I hadn't noticed the difference, but now that you point it out... whoa!

And IF it alters Hillary's singing voice, will anyone care? :lmao:

That's exactly what I was thinking! I mean, I'll take her teeny-bop over Lindsay Lohan or Paris anyday, but it's not like she'd be messing with a rare talent like Barbra's.

I could barely stand to have my teeth whitened when I did it for my wedding. I guess I must have sensitive chompers, 'cause it hurt like HECK!

And then when they told me I couldn't have coffee or red wine...well...I knew it would be the last time I did such a foolish thing. I'd rather have wine than pretty teeth!

Celebrities are doing what has become the expected norm in America - super perfect teeth. Teeth are connected to class and status. The more perfect your teeth are, the "better" person you are. (Yes, ridiculous message, but unfortunately very true in many places and occupations). It's very evident where I live, as the average six and seven year old already has some orthodontic device in their mouths, to make sure they will become part of the "perfect teeth" club. And I can honestly say I never had a boss with bad-looking teeth! Celebrities are just bowing to the pressure to have perfect teeth, to keep themselves above the rest. :(

My big issue with veneers is when a celebrity has a perfectly even toothline! I mean, the canines are suppose to be longer and pointed, but most celebrities get everything ground down or veneered so every tooth is pretty much the same length! Unnatural looking and easy to spot. Just looks wierd! :(

I agree it just looks wierd. I have clean, nice, mostly unaltered teeth (I have a few fillings and due for some more, as well as a wisdom tooth extraction) and I don't see why I should change that. I think that overly white teeth are ugly, actually. Ugh.

I also immediately thought of Hilary Duff when I saw this topic. :rotfl:

:lmao: Couldn't possibly be any worse than it is already!

What horse's mouth are they using to measure for these chompers?? Seriously...is that Gary Busey, or Mr Ed???? :lmao: :lmao:
