Celebrations Galore & Free Dining too! A Sept 2012 PTR (TR started!)

What a big year for you guys!! That's such a great accomplishment of Tony's-- getting an MBA takes a lot of hard work! Lots of big birthdays, too!! Congratulations on 10 years!
I feel like travelling with a baby will be a very different experience-- you'll certainly have lots more stuff to tote around!! But I'm sure it'll be worth it when you see Cole smile at all the amazing sights and sounds-- he looks like such a happy baby in all of your pictures!

It's a very big year!! So many great things to celebrate. Tony did really well with all of his classes too..very good grades.

Traveling with the baby will be different and our touring will definately be a much different pace. I'm already trying to think of the perfect park bag for all of the baby things. I think I'll probably cry when I see Cole's reaction to everything! He is a super happy baby.

AWWW...so much to celebrate!!

Have you thought about taking your own stroller instead of renting? We did one trip without taking our own, and then all of the others with, and it was so nice to have the stoller in the airport! If the boys wanted to walk, it was great to just pile our crap in it. :rotfl::rotfl2: And they just tagged it, and we wheeled it right into the tarmak, and it was waiting for us when we got off.

I'm here! Can't wait to hear about all your plans!

You sure do have a lot to celebrate! Sounds like fun!

Don't worry about the diapers, it's not a big deal. I have to admit that on our last trip when we didn't have anyone in diapers (our first trip with kids without diapers...and we've taken 6 disney trips with kids in diapers) it was REALLY nice. But when you're used to diapers, it's totally fine! :goodvibes Babies are fun on vacation. There's nothing like taking a baby to disney! I'm excited for you! :)

That's not weird, I do the same thing. :rotfl: Though sometimes I fold and wear it before the trip.

Glad to know I'm not alone!

Thank you! We are staying at the Art of Animation in the Nemo Suites. :)

Awesome! That is definately on my list of places to stay in the future. The rooms look so bright and cheery. Lots of space too. My daughter is obsessed with the pull down table bed.

I'm onboard too!!

Welcome aboard! :goodvibes

I have thought about taking our own stroller, but it's SO big and bulky. I do NOT want to take that thing on the buses. I've looked at the strollers that the off property rental places have and they are great. They fold super easy and fast which is what we'll need. The only time we won't have a stroller is the quick walk through the airport to ME. The company I'm leaning towards going with can have the stroller at your resort at any time you wish. :thumbsup2

Yay! Glad you made your way back to the DIS. There is so much to celebrate and I can't wait!

I'm not too worried about the diaper thing...just something new for us. I've checked out the baby care centers on line and they look great. I'm sure we'll be making a few stops there to get out of the heat and for a few diaper changes. I'm so excited for Cole's first trip!:yay:

I've never used the baby care centers at WDW, but I used the ones at Disneyland all the time, and they were fantastic. I have to imagine that they're the same. There are also changing tables in all the bathrooms, and DH would take the baby to change him/her a lot because there are always lines in the women's rooms and none in the men's rooms!

Sitting in to read my first TR! Not sure if I will attempt one myself this time around...hoping to learn something from you:thumbsup2

I have heard from others that they are great. I did know that there are changing tables in both the men and women's restrooms. I do plan on having Tony take Cole to change him because I have to take Madison with me to the restroom. I'm not taking both of them!

Thanks so much for joining! PTR's and TR's are always a part of my trips. They make the planning even more fun and the TR helps me relive my trip with all of my DIS buddies. :goodvibes

HI
One of the Snowbirds from Jan 2009!:wave2:We will also be there at the end of Sept but dates may change if FD comes out. I've been reading TR's based in Sept, since this is our 1st time during that time...kind of worried how hot it's going to be, especially since I don't deal with heat all that well. I read your previous TR during Sept and it seems like it was hot!

Remember me? I didn't remember your screen name, but did you use the same Avater? I think I remember that! LOL!!! Welcome back from another Snowbird!!! :cutie:

Hi Meg, I'm here!! Can't wait to follow and live vicariously through you!:yay: So excited for you guys and yes, you have SO much to celebrate and there couldn't be a better place to do it!!:thumbsup2

Hey there stranger! Glad to have you here. It was pretty hot on our last Sept trip, but we survived. We drank a ton of water, brought our own little hand held fans and spray bottle w/fan, and took midday breaks. It may be hot during the day, but at night it is wonderful! The sun isn't beating down but it's still nice and warm. Besides, I LOVE WDW at night...so beautiful.

Hey Kristen. Thanks for coming on over to read. I think we might all be wearing 3 or 4 pins on this trip!

Well, our flights are officially booked!! It was quite the process yesterday, but we're all set now. Let me back up a little bit.

I woke up yesterday morning and on a whim, I decided to check the flights. Wouldn't you know that they jumped up $10 per way. I was so mad and was wishing that we had booked them weeks ago (they were originally $140/way, went up to $145/way and yesterday they were $155/way). Anyways...Tony and I checked everything again later in the day and decided it was time to book.

Now, on our last trip we flew Southwest, but in the past we had flown JetBlue. I love them both in their own way. I had been checking both airlines and they were pretty much the same price. We really needed nonstop flights (not getting on and off a plane with a little one) and the only nonstop flight for the way home on Southwest departs at something like 7am. NO WAY! I'm not leaving that early on the way home. I checked JetBlue and they have a nonstop flight for the way home that departs around 1pm. Much better. I would have loved an even later flight time, but 1pm will do. So, we decided to fly down on Southwest (leaving at 6am!!!) and fly home on JetBlue.

Tony wondered how many points he had on Southwest, so he gave them a call. Well, they switched how they do things (not sure about how it all works) and Tony was a bit confused. They explained things to him and after speaking with the representative, he decided to buy some points (something along those lines) for $75. That $75 got us 2 free flights!!! :woohoo: We had to book them each separately, so we used them for the one way flights for Tony & Madison. We only had to pay the government fee of $2.50 for each flight which means we essentially paid $80 for 2 one way flights. That saved us $230!! :thumbsup2 I can't believe I'm excited for $155 flights. I was going back through my last PTR and I was up in arms over flights that were like $120 or $109 each way. This gas price nonsense is getting out of hand!

The other thing we did yesterday was move our trip up by one day. We were doing a Wed-Wed, but the nonstop flight home on JetBlue jumped WAY up in price. It was still at $155 every other day that week, so now our trip is Tues-Tues (Sept 18-25). Doesn't bother me! :goodvibes

I also officially booked our trip yesterday. :yay: Now the waiting begins for a discount (free dining?) to come out for our dates. The other thing I did yesterday was book my flights for my business trip in August. The travel agency I work for is having an agent summit at the Boardwalk and I'm super excited about it. I've never stayed there and I get to share a room with a fellow DISer/TA. :thumbsup2 It's going to be a weekend full of learning and lots of fun.
