Celebration World Resort

My MIL has RCI points & is giving us points to stay at Celebration World Resort. We may possibly stay at Bonnet Creek. But, it looks like CWR may the place now. I have read mixed reviews. Has anyone stayed there? If so, what did you think?

We have stayed there 3 of the past four years over New years / January for two weeks. We like it because they accept pets so the dogs (now dog unfortunately) got to come too. Saves us boarding & we all enjoy it.

The resort itself is OK. Not much on site as they have never finished much of what was originally promised. The units are showing their age badly but they are showing a nicely remodeled unit and saying that most will be done soon (no idea if its actually happening or not). It is not anything close to Bonnet Creek level quality or location but is fine for a nice place to stay not far from Disney. Easy back access as it's nearly on top of Westgate Villas and Windsor Hills both considered close to Disney.

Not our first choice by any means (except when the dogs come along) but we wouldn't turn it down either.

We have stayed at BC & loved it. I wish we were staying there again. But, I really can't complain since we will be getting free lodging, probably save us $1000! But, on the other hand I don't want to be disappointed on our WDW vacation. We stayed at POP last year and was extremely cramped with little space. So, at least that won't be a problem this year. Right? What restaurants are near by? Is there a Walmart? Do they supply towels & toliet paper? I read one review that said you needed to bring your own.

Space is not an issue. No restaurants in walking distance, but you are only a mile or so from 192 and the unending selection there (you won't go hungry but you need a car). There is a Super Target within 4 miles but the nearest Walmart is further (I'd guess 7-9 miles). Towels & toilet paper? Yes. No free refills on TP but they start you out with enough for the stated occupancy.
