Celebration Roundup & BBQ

We love it!!!! It's pricey for kids 10 and up, but DBF and I love it. At lunch you get chicken, ribs, baked beans, coleslaw (I LOVE the slaw and would here just for that!) and cornbread, all you can eat for $19.99 for adults and $9.99 for kids under 10. For dinner you get all the same things but you add sausage and corn wheels (just corn on the cob cut into smaller pieces to resemble wagon wheels) for $24.99 for adults and I think the kids price jumps to $14.99 but I'm not sure. See, the girls aren't big on the all you can BBQ and DD13 definitely won't eat $20 worth of food so DBF and I did the BBQ last Sunday and the girls went to the Golden Horseshoe for chicken nuggets and some Billy Hill. :) Drinks are not included at those prices, drinks are $2.99 extra and dessert is also extra. There are no characters at the meal but there are a piano player/singer, a guitar player/singer (with an invisible horse named Gary) and Miss Chris to provide plenty of entertainment while you eat. DBF and I have enjoyed it both times we have gone and honestly, I think we will go again when we are there next week. :)

We went for lunch in October and really liked it too. We thought the chicken was the best part of the meal because it wasn't dry at all and tasted great. Even DH loved it even though he's sort of bored with chicken since we have it at home a lot. The rest of the food was really good too and i thought the entertainment was great. Hopefully we'll get to go back again sometime but the price is a little high for us to do too often. We actually had free meal vouchers which covered the cost for us which was great.

We ate there about two weeks ago. The food is really good. But, the best part of the meal was the quiet setting. We were feeling hot, tired and I have to admit it, grumpy!!!! It's quiet and it feels set away from the park. It took us about 1 1/2 hours to have our meal. Yes, we are big eaters. Chris, our waiter, was great. I'm sure Disneyland lost money on us. By the end of that meal we were ready to hit the parks again. We didn't have PS, it took about 20 minutes to get a table. This was about 1pm on a Tuesday. I have to admit, this was one of my favorite Disneyland resturant. I may be one of the few people who like this place better without the characters. It's just a nice place to step away from the "busy" park and relax. My seven year old loved the food and she still got to see Woody and Jessie just outside the resturant. The best of both worlds.

Me, my cousin in law, and her DBF did this in July. We ended up doing it the day after they stopped giving desserts, and drinks with the meal, and had pulled woody, and jessie already which was a bummer. When we were there we had a 1:30 lunch, and we had NO entertainment NONE. It was just quiet. There were maybe 3 other families there. I was also told the entertainment is not on a set time, and it's hit, or miss. Basically you might, or might not get a show. I found it very boring with nothing going on. The food is good, but not sure it's good enough to have me go back honestly. I may try it again this trip, or later, but just wasnt pleased with this one. I think they lost a lot of the selling point of this meal.

Are children under 3 free or the 9.99-14.99????

Yes, 3 and under should be free. DS is 4 but has a feeding tube so he couldn't eat their food and they wrote him down as an "infant" on the ticket.

I wonder if they've changed it since your visit so that there is always some entertainment now? I would hope so. Maybe it took them awhile to figure out what they wanted to do there. We only had one cowboy entertaining us when we went and I thought it was great but it sounds like others have had more than one person entertaining. We also went on a weekend and it was right at noon so i bet if you go at a busier time you will have entertainment. Sorry your first experience there wasn't good.

We were there at still a good lunch time, but honestly the place in July was pretty empty everytime we walked by before it was our day for our PS. The dining CM I called to ask if the changes were true, and I was told yes no more meet, and greets inside. You can get a meet and greet outside of the BBQ IF 1 of the chars were out at the time. I also was told by the CM that the cowboy was now hit, or miss. That we might be there when some entertainment would be going on, but they have no set times when he might come out. I just feel that they should have kept the drinks included, and entertainment as it was part of the drawl.

Last Sunday we had 3 entertainers, the piano player, the cowboy and Miss Chris all come out while we were there. We went in the afternoon, probably around 1 or 1:30 and the entertainers were out the whole time, we were there for a good 2-2.5 hrs.

It may have changed. I was just telling about our experience this past July. It was the day after the new changes went into effect, so maybe they were seeing if the BBQ would still bring in the people as it first did. I talked to some CM's at the BBQ, and Disney Dining who agreed that the changes were poopy. They did say some people rather not have the cowboy coming to their table during the meal singing and joking. Maybe since it changed July 29that was the date we went they were dead, and we were there for a couple of hours no entertainment. They may have decided they needed to add it back throughout the BBQ hours. I remember reading on the board when they were rumored to be doing this, and that's what prompted me to call, and ask if it was true. Many dis members mentioned being unhappy about the change, disney dining also was not happy about it. I may give it another go if I don't have a set place, or am not feeling in the mood for a certain something. I like Toy Story, and just played the new Toy Story Midway Mania on the wii last night with me DS. I think this would be soooo much better if they add more of a Woody/Jessie vibe, and bring them back into the meal. I know I will for sure bring my son for that.

Just made a PS for this - is it all-you-can-eat? And just to clarify, no desserts are included?

Thanks!

It was great when we went in May, dessert was included at that time. Not sure if there still having Woody, Jessie and the horse entertain?

It's absolutely all you can eat, when you're ready for more just ask!! The drinks and dessert are no longer included and there are no longer any characters, just the piano player, the guitar player and Miss Chris. I'm assuming it will be closed if it's raining tho, it's not really set up for covered/protected seating. Just an fyi. :)

Awesome thanks! When we were making our PM, the CM said it would be closed if it rains.
