Celebration Recognition

Congratulations to you and your family! What a wonderful event to celebrate! As others have mentioned, the best thing to do is to have it noted EVERYWHERE - your room reservation and all of your dining reservations. I loved the idea of making her her own special button since, as far as I know, WDW does not have adoption celebration buttons. I believe you can find button-making kits at craft stores, like Michael's. If you need help finding something, PM me and I'll help you search. You can also make buttons at zazzle.com or have one designed for you at an affordable price at etsy.com

The autograph book idea is great, too. Another thing you can do before you leave home - try a Disney Enchanted Call - you can have a princess, Mickey, Winnie the Pooh or Tigger call your daughter and congratulate her! It only costs $2.49. Here is the link: https://secure.uvoxnetworks.com/disney/

If the CM at check-in does not mention it, yes, prompt them with something like - "we are here to celebrate our daughter's adoption!" - only a very cold CM would ignore a delightful comment like that.

I will share my experience at BC. We were checking in last August and my DS3 had just woken up from a nap. He is on the autism spectrum and has a very difficult time with transitions - they tried stickers, coloring books, everything you can think of to cheer him up. Later that day, a knock came on our door. It was room service with a delivery of milk and cookies for my son with a card wishing him a wonderful trip. I was floored. It was so unexpected. And we weren't staying CL or anything - staying in a discounted standard room, in fact. Nor were we celebrating anything special! Later, I saw the CM who checked us in. She asked if my son (who she remembered by name) had received his snack. I made sure WDW resort guest services knew how much we appreciated this gesture by this very kind CM.

So, in essence, hope, but don't expect. Magical things do happen there, though and there are so many CM's who take great pleasure in doing those little magical things to bring a smile to someone's face!

I am sending lots of pixie dust to your daughter and your family! :wizard:

Wow! Thank you everyone for you suggestions. I love the idea of her autograph book and the special call. She has been through so much in her short life and I am hoping she can have something special happen to remember this trip by. ALthough it is her first time going so the trip will be special to her no matter what!!

How very exciting to get to go to WDW with YOUR DAUGHTER! I bet you will have the best time ever!!
I hope the tips given will be of great use. Enjoy your trip.
