Celebration pins - Do I need an open mind?

Maybe it is me, but help me figure it out: Those new pins to be released during the celebration aren't looking that spectacular (at least the pictures I have seen so far).

Yes, Dom, I better stay away from your villains, but, what does everyone else think about the new releases?

I haven't seen too many I really love.
The event spinner is probably my favorite at this point.
I also like the pins from the Countdown series.

I think all along I said I'm going for the fellowship.

I really like the pin trading slider but most of the rest don't interest me. Fortunately I really like some of the 100 year ones coming out at the same time. Besides. I think there are some surprises still to come.

I am about the same. I will get the event dangle and map pins to complete my sets. Bu tI am going more for the fun - meeting all of the DISers down there.

And if I snag a grail or 2 - bonus!!

So far, the pin trading slider is my favorite, and I like the 4 in the countdown series--especially Walt's car! But, Robyn's right; I think the "pins" are the catalyst, but it's Disney and magic and fellowship that really binds us all together in this "madness"!

although i really like the slider....and the award pins are great for me as a incentive
to do your chores, oops my sons chores not mine....lol. But they arent special
enough to be the event pins.....I think they should have had more character pins
or a different character from each country, sort of like the old stuffed animals they
used to offer....remember Scottish Goofy, Japanese Minnie, Mexican Pluto..etc.

I have a dumb question, are the park pins the map pins??? You know the ones representing
each park......I dont really like them.....and hey any idea what the giveaway pin will be???

I like the "award" pins, but why so few characters represented?

I reread the Dizpins Event info page, and I believe that the pins representing each of the Disney parks are the map pins. But that's just my interpretation of second-hand information.
I didn't see any word on what the give-away pin might be.

For anyone who attended the past events: If the Disney park pins are the map pins, does that mean that we will only be able to buy one or two of these at a time during the event? Or, will we be able to buy as many as we want since they're rack pins? Does anyone know?

Dizpins News said these would only be at Epcot during the event and then park-wide afterwards.

The slider pin is OK  , but for a dramatically advertised, huge event I am sure they could have created more spectacular pins!

I hope the surprise pins will be more motivating... Or that WDW learns a few things from Disneyland and Tokyo! ;)

There's something about them. Their pins have more vivid colors, lively expressions, the characters just seem to be interacting with you! Many WDW pins seem so dull and impersonal...

I like the concept of the "World with Tinkerbell flying" pin and the slider is cute, but the Villians resemble the other framed pins that were so undesirable. What I really think is cute...the "Award" pins. The characters are simple and lovable looking. It really doesn't matter which I like because there won't be any left for us here at home, anyway. We'll be relegated to that awful e*** site and at the mercy of it's prices.
