I was just wondering if it was acceptable to celebrate my birthday next January (while I'm there for the marathon)? My actual date is December 23th but would never be able to do that.
Sure. Why wouldn't it be? We have celebrated occasions which fell "close" to our Disney trips while there. If you want to celebrate with a cake at a restraunt, be sure to call in advance and order.
I suggest the Wilderness Lodge restaurant. My then boyfriend went there for his 30th birthday. He had to ride a horse (the one with a stick and the horse head) I'm drawing a blank on what they're called. Anyways he had to ride that around the restaurant singing Happy Birthday to me. Then when the waiter asked if everybody had heard him and a few people said no. He had to go out in the lobby and ride the horse still singing. He is 5'9" and about 260 pounds. He's a firefighter so he looked really funny on that horse. If you tell the restaurant that's it's your birthday they will usually do something special. They also had a hat shaped like a birthday cake and it played Happy Birthday and the candles lit up.
We'll be going to Disney shortly after DS's 3rd b-day and my 22nd. Darn skippy I'll be making the most out of this "birthday" trip! I highly doubt DH will ride a horse on stick, though
This will be happening to us, too. Missing by about a week. Would it also be acceptable to go to city hall for the birthday badge if it were not the exact date of the birthday? I'm feeling iffy about this.
I think the badges say it's my birthday today-----you can always make your own-----i'm sure the cast people will give you one anyway at city hall if you ask----harder for the little kids because everyone will come up and wish them a happy birthday and then they get confused.....have a great time!
