Welcome to my March 2010 PTR celebrating with D23!

I wasn't going to plan another trip to the World until Food & Wine in October, but you know how that goes. :lmao: I actually got a ticket to D23's 1st anniversary, which shocked the holy buckets out of me.

Well, now I have to go! I quickly got together my trip with the help of my neato travel agent. ;) I was able to secure the 5 night/giftcard deal at POP century. I've never been there so it'll be fun, I'm sure.

I just need to book a flight, then I'm (literally) good to go! UPDATE: I'm now good to go! WOOT!

If you would like to know what goes on during a D23 event or any other stuff I'm doing, you can follow me on Twitter at http://twitter.com/MyMuse18. Or you can just follow along via the website without joining Twitter. :thumbsup2

Details:
When: March 3-8
Resort: POP Century
Who: Just me!
(with visit from the goddaughter, I hope!)

I don't have all my days totally figured out yet but I will soon. Planning a trip by the seat of my pants is really quite stressful, yet exciting. :scared: I did get some ADRs done.

Highlights:
D23 1st Anniversary Party
WDW Today Podcast
Backstage Safari
Flower & Garden Festival
ADRs: Tusker House, Biergarten, LeCellier, Crystal Palace (DIS meet!:woohoo:) AND unplanned Tony's Town Square!!

I'm here! I'm so excited for you! :woohoo: That party is going to be awesome and I really can't wait to hear about your tour! :thumbsup2

I'm in! We are at the same time...we arrive a bit earlier but we leave the 8th too!! Can't wait to read more!

Nope...we aren't D23 members:scared1: I know...:sad2:

I didn't mean that you should! I was just wondering. Inquiring minds, and all that... :goodvibes

Do you have a PTR as well? (<-- see, inquiring mind at work...err, play. )

Edit: nevermind, I answered my own question! LOL!!

I've been tracking airline fares and right now, JetBlue & Continental are in dead heat.

Same price, almost exact flight times.
Both have first bag checked free

I belong to both programs, though I have not flown JetBlue in 6 years.

Monday night/Tuesday morning almost always have fare wars/time wars. I may want to see if one drops. Though, I hear JetBlue does credit flights if they decrease.

Which to go with? :scratchin

UPDATE: ok, flight done! Booked with JetBlue!

Yay for the clean bill of health. I know you have been going to Dr.s but I never wanted to pry. I figured you would share if you wanted to.
Yay for your trip and great ADR to Le Cellier! And you most certainly can be celebrating your b-day 2 weeks later. I have done it the last 3 years that way! Mine is Feb 14th and we have gone the 1st or 2nd week of March the last 3 years, and all 3 trips were my "b-day" gift/celebration!
DH is actually thinking of hitting a waterpark/hotle this weekend for my birthday. Now I really don't like waterparks at all, but at least he is thinking of doing something special...and I know Claire will love it.

You do have a lot to celebrate! All that testing must have been scary and stressful! So glad to hear you were given a clean bill of health! :goodvibes

That's right! We have birthdays right next door to each other! So, I guess you are not going fo the 4th year in a row. Well, yea for at least going to a park/hotel and not staying home!

I'm super-happy about the doctors. At some point, it wasn't looking too good. While I would have dealt with having the terminal diagnosis, I would rather not. So, now I don't have to super-rush the bucket list. :goodvibes

I wasn't going for LeCellier and was just trying it, so I figured why not. I really didn't make any ADRs, other than this one and Biergarten.

It was, in spots. I'm very glad it's done. At least, for now. I do have to do annual testing because both my parents actually passed away of rare genetic terminal disorders fairly young and I'm their kid who got all the genes. Why is it that it's always the middle child? :lmao:

Thank you very much for the support! :goodvibes

To-Do List 2/9/10:
finish planning days
book air - done
order Mobile Magic
buy new hidden mickey book
book car service
pack

I booked air this morning with JetBlue. I'm usually a dedicated Continental FF, but I wanted to shake things up a bit. I've only flown once on JetBlue 6 years ago to San Diego. I can't believe it's been that long!

Yes, I should be asleep by now, but I'm wide awake and just found out we have a snow day tomorrow!

So, initally I thought I had too many park passes on my trip. My package forces you to get at minimum the 5 day ticket, plus I would another one since D23 comes with a park ticket. This would equal 6.

Now, with trying to look through things, I may need a hopper/extra ticket?

Arrival: head to AK for EMH PM
Day 2: back to AK / Backstage Safari
Day 3: D23 party at MK!
Day 4: Epcot ADR Biergarten / WDW Podcast party
Day 5: Epcot / Le Cellier / Rest of F&G events
Day 6: Departure, wanted to go to MK

Hmm, no DHS? Add on another day or get a park hopper? Or do nothing?

And only 2 ADRs? It seems I'm on a counter service trip on this trip.

I want to try:
Beaches & Cream
Peco Bills
Yak & Yeti counter service

You are up way too late :rotfl:
As for the tickets...What we are going to do is upgrade our 5 day tickets to 6 days, which is just a few dollars. Then we will use the party ticket to "hop" from Animal Kingdom to Epcot one day since AK closes so early. You could always use your party ticket to hop over to DHS on your second Epcot day if you wanted and we always like the boat ride between the two!

NO DHS??:sad2: You need at least half a day there!!

Love your ADR's so far! And your "want to try" list has some of my favs. The honey chicken at Yak & Yeti was so great. It was nice to have something hot and fresh but fast!!

We are doing the backstage Safari too! Have you done it yet?

What time does the MK party start? You could alwys go to HS on that day in the morning with the estra ticket, and then do the party later? Unless it's an all day thing. What time does your departure flight leave?

I know I just could not fall asleep! I finally did around 2:30am and woke up just before 6am. And it was a SNOW DAY! I wanted to sleep in. It has been snowing since 2:30am and hasn't stopped yet. I shoveled only once so far.

Anyway, I'm having a brain issue, because I don't quite get how I can park hop without a park hopper. I don't have enough tickets for the amount of parks, unless I choose not to go to a park on departure day and do something else. I have 6 days and 6 tickets; how can I go to 2 parks in one day? :scratchin

I don't know where to fit it in, unless I go there on deaprture day? I feel I need 2 days for MK.

I will be checking the menu site for the counter service places.

no, I've never done Backstage Safari, so I'm really hoping it's great!!

I can't; I have 6 days and 6 park tickets. No parkhoppers.

The MK party technically starts at 2pm. But I'm going to spend the day there. I think it would worry me about being late.

My departure flight is 6:30pm, so later in the day.

I wonder if it will be easier just to add a "6th" day on my package tickets at some nominal charge and sort of use that as a park hopper? Can I "scan" my package ticket twice in one day? I probably should already know that by now. :lmao:

Your package has 5 days and for a few dollars you can upgrade that to 6. You will then have the ability to visit one park per day. At the party you will get another 1 day ticket. So let's say on your Epcot day you used your package ticket to enter then you could go to DHS (for example) and use your party ticket. Not technically "hopping" but allowing you to see two parks in one day.

Congrats on the clean bill of health! :woohoo:

Our trips overlap a bit, I'll be there the 7-12. We only have 3 ADRs (excited about getting LeCellier lunch, too :)), so you aren't alone!

No, that won't work. Otherwise people would add days to their tix to do that since it's cheaper than park hoppers ;)

ahhh *slaps forehead* Now, I understand. Good Lord! Why couldn't I figure that out?! :lmao: I think that is an excellent idea!

Thank you muchly.

I feel like I should do another ADR for some reason. I had an eye on Crystal Palace for Monday morning, but no more early morning ADRs left. Which might be the best, I'm not sure if I want a character meal; I just want to eat inside Crystal Palace! :rotfl:

Actually, it might, like Dawn said above. Only because I will have 1 paper single ticket from the D23 party on Friday, so I could "hop" on Saturday or Sunday. It might actually work to my advantage!
