Wondering if anyone has any great ideas where we should celebrate his birthday in November. He's only going to be 1, but we will have the entire family there includings parents, aunts, uncles, Grandparents, etc. Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Thank you!! :)

We were there for DS's 2nd birthday last year and we went to Crystal Palace for breakfast. They gave him a decorated cupcake and a card from the pooh characters. (This was impromptu because the Spirit of Aloha Show had been canceled earlier in the week and we had extra TSs to use on the DP.) It was fun because the Pooh characters were really the ones he knew the best.

But, we also had reservations for dinner at Chef Mickey's and we all loved that great big party atmosphere! We ordered a birthday cake and Mickey came to our table when it ws served and we sang Happy Birthday.

Both places were great- I don't think you can go wrong with character meals, as long as your little one likes the characters!

We celebrated DS3 bday at Disney last year -- we had breakfast at the new Hollywood & Vine character buffet, Jojo & Goliath & the Little Einsteins -- they were his favorite at the time. It was a little chaotic, but that's when they were new. I heard they've smoothed out all the kinks now & it's much more organized. ;)

For dinner we went to the Crystal Palace -- character interaction was great! DS loves Pooh & Tigger and they did a really great job making him feel special. We decided not to go the route of ordering a cake and all so they brought him a special cupcake and sang to him. It was wonderful! Make sure to get a birthday pin at Guest Relations at the parks. That way all the CM & characters will know it's their birthday!

Make sure to go to the Mainstreet Barbershop to get his haircut. The make a big deal out of the first haircut. In 2005 DS got his 1st haircut there, they gave him Mickey ears with "my first haircut" stitched on the back as well as a certificate. The barbers do a great job keeping a 1year old occupied during a hair cut.

We are taking our Ds in Sept for his 1st bday, Dgparents comming too. I am planning to do Crystal palace for breakfast on his bday, and coral reef for dinner that night, people say that the kids love to watch the fish and I think it will be a nice meal for the adults. Also planning the first haircut at Mk, checkout a thread that I have on the Theme park boards ,there are some adorable photos. We ar staying at the poly so I am planing to do Ohana's for a breakfast also. Other that that I am just hoping that Ds will just enjoy the whole WDW experience, there is soo much for him to see I don't plan on to manny other special events other that the normal stuff, wished specto etc. I play spectro for him on the computer now and he loves to look at it! There is an nice version on the MK page here on the dis. Good luck with all your plans, have a wonderful trip!:goodvibes

Thank you for providing me with some information. I also found several other threads about birthdays at WDW. Could you send me a link to the haircut pictures? I'd love to do that, it sounds like so much fun & I'd love to take some pics. Do you have to make reservations? Is there a number to call? Thank you again & sorry for so many questions, I've never traveled with a child before :)

Ypu don't need a reservation from what I have read, the thread is over on the theme park board, I don't know how to post a link, it is called 1st hair cut at mk, I wil bump it to the first page over there, you could also click on my name and check all posts by me and you should find it.
