Celebrating my Un-Birthday Disney Style-April 2010-New 5/3 - The TR has started!

The pattern you picked out is the pattern that I want in my hipster that I am going to be purchasing for the parks!!! I still think I am going to bring the fanny pack just in case or maybe switch out. I am in pain already thinking of how heavy the bag can get across my shoulder. But I really don't keep that much in my bag, the heaviest thing will be my camera. I have a VB purse that I am using now and the straps don't get bunched up like other purses, they are actually made well.

It's a very springy pattern that's why I think it will be great for Florida & after. My fanny pack will be along for the ride as well, but I'm hoping between the backpack & the hipster I might be able to avoid using it. I guess it will depend on how easy it is to switch out the glasses. LASIK would make my life so much easier!

Monday, 4/26:
• DHS in the morning (H&V late breakfast/early lunch)
• Epcot in the afternoon/evening (Teppan Edo dinner – Zach’s restaurant choice)
• Stay for Illuminations

Are you parking at DHS that day and then taking the ferry over to Epcot via the International Gateway...you should try and watch Illumination from near there to help the exit from all humanity....



Tuesday, 4/27:
• AK when we get there (probably close to RD)
• CS lunch – maybe stay through parade?
• Swim at pool
• Mom & Dad night out – Shula’s & DTD
• Jeff & the gang will arrive late Tuesday night – probably around 10pm (but I’m sure this won’t surprise you to hear… they’ll probably arrive late)

Have you seen the parade yet? sometimes you can kind of sneak right up on the line before it begins to lessen the waiting factor...



Wednesday, 4/28:
• Jeff & the gang will be at Universal all day today so our plans are unchanged*
• MK at RD, break?, chef Mickey’s for dinner, back to MK, stay for Wishes

Thursday, 4/29:

• This will either stay as our waterpark day or become a resort day. If J&K want to join us at the waterpark we might still go, otherwise (based on the boys’ decision) we’ll just stay at the resort and swim, play mini-golf, ride surrey bikes & relax.
• Dinner at Boma for the whole group!!

seems like a reasonable day to be flexible and if you don't do WP...sounds like enough at the resort to keep busy w/!

Friday, 4/30:
• Original Plan:

o Waterpark day, which was then switched to our Epcot Day (with lunch for 4 at Le Cellier)​

• New Plans (Plan A):

o Epcot am with just the four of us, including our lunch at Le Cellier.
o Back to resort to say good-bye to everyone & pick up DMIL.
o Night at DHS including Fantasmic??** and dinner at 50s PTC?? (probably won't do both Le Cellier & 50s PTC?)​

• New Plan (Plan B):

o Epcot am with DMIL (not sure we’ll make RD), skip Le Cellier & eat a CS lunch.
o DHS including Fantasmic?** and dinner at 50s PTC.​

seems a doable either or day too...still same destinations just when arriving and meals have changed...when will you decide this the day before?



Saturday 5/1:
• Original Plan:

o MK morning (8:05am Crystal Palace) then free day for park hopping​

• New Plan:

o AK morning/ MK pm – stay until 7pm closing for Grad Nights​

I like ending w/ MK too and getting in maybe a favorite or missed item in the morning at AK too.!

I don't know how you figured it all out again...but it seems real good!

That's something I'm looking forward to in February next year... earlier night time entertainment.

So how did I do on my week five to-do list?

• From previous:

o Continue work on touring plans
o Purchase more sunscreen – need 1-2 more sprays - DONE
o Decide on park bag – DONE!!!​

• Find Disney ponchos - DONE
• Organize lanyards & pins - DONE
• Get Easter shopping done - DONE
• Talk to Laura about fish/frogs - DONE
• Get/find autograph sharpies – DONE
• Inventory batteries – DONE
• Submit condo requests - DONE
• Print TGM tips (best places for parades/fireworks) – DONE

So I did pretty well this week!! Yesterday I also got new glasses!! (Pictures later…) While I waited for them to put in the lenses I went over to Target and purchased more sunscreen (spray & Coppertone Faces - Oil Free), zyrtec for my mystery allergy, Neosporin to go, moleskin, blister band-aids, Band-aid friction block stick, travel size aquaphor tubes (for Alex’s lips), and some travel size snacks. I didn’t find any earplanes (earplugs to help with the pressure when you fly – both boys use them) or body glide. I had to stop by again today to exchange something and I got the sharpies that I forgot yesterday!

Here is my to-do list for this week:

4 weeks to go (3/25 – 3/31):
• From last week:

o Continue work on touring plans​

• Get house ready for Easter & do food shopping
• Get the kids’ Disney gift cards
• Have money collected for PhotoPass share – share login info
• Start organizing toiletries/first aid supplies
• Walmart/Target/Drug store- Body Glide & Earplanes (X2) – already checked Target
• Purchase new twin air mattresses - DONE
• Find bed pump - DONE

We also received a very special package today! Tracy (mrsksomeday) & Bill (yodak) sent the boys a wonderful gift… Disney pins!! They loved the pins… they were so thoughtfully chosen for each of them. I picked Zach up from school a little early today (12:30 as opposed to the usual 1:30) for an appointment, and he saw the package sitting on the front seat of the car. He looked at it, he felt it, he shook it, then he decided it was something salty! He was so mad when I told him he had to wait until we got home after soccer so he & Alex could open it together. When we finally made it home and Alex finished his homework, I let them at it!

And you may or may not have noticed that Zach is wearing a puffle shirt today (total coincidence)! Red is his favorite color so he was thrilled that one of the puffle pins was a red!

I have to admit that I’m a bit jealous of Alex’s pins… they are beautiful ToT, TSM & RnRC pins! These are Alex’s absolute favorite rides!!

The Mickey pins are so cute... are they specific to certain rides? I told Alex that he could use them for trading if he wanted and he said, "Um, I don't think I want to trade any of them."

First of all, I hate when I quote your reply and the stuff you wrote in my message doesn't come over... anyways... we'll probably move our car when we hop from DHS to Epcot. I'm still trying to figure out the best spot to watch from and what our exit strategy will look like.

I'm glad you like my revised plans.

We haven't seen the parade at AK yet - it sounds like a pretty easy one to catch without much waiting.

February 2011 is in the works as far as I'm concerned... DH is on board with it so there's nothing stopping me. We've talked about it a few times since he gave me the OK so I guess he really is good with the whole idea.

Hopefully we'll be seeing Julie's baby pictures soon.

It was a sweet surprise... of course I knew last week when Tracy asked for our address but it was really fun to play along with the surprise. Zach was so funny... he knew it was Disney related from the stickers on the package, but his guesses were all over the board - including puffles!
