Celebrating her 21st Disney Style - Real-time July 2021 Trip Report with Lots of Food Pics!!

Next stop, Japan. This stop was way too short for two reasons:
- rain building straight overhead. It was going to rain, but when??
- a pending ADR at Via Napoli that no one wanted to miss.

it’s such a beautiful place! Drinks include a “pink drink”?? $9.50 and a saki that ended up in the garbage can...$8

We made it to Italy- Dry! While the country is quite beautiful, we were more excited for lunch at Via Napoli. We spent a week in Italy a couple years ago and couldn’t imagine the food could live up to those expectations. The country Reminded us a bit of The Venetian in Vegas- in a good way! Lovely. The restaurant is also a special space.

Service and the food were both excellent. We were seated within minutes of checking in,
Which we did almost exactly at 2:30. Our ADR time. I was afraid we would not want a set lunch time- but we were so glad to have it! It was a joy to have a break, sit with AC, and take a minute. I’d totally recommend a sit down lunch! It was a bit late because of the late opening time. But worked so well! Here was our drink of choice...

Lunch started with a foccia bread ($4.50) and mozzarella caprese salad ($12). Parmesan chess and crushed peppers were served in a hidden mickey shape- nice touch! Both good. All started pre- pic! We were hungry!

Lunch started with a perfect pasta dish- tortellini with sweet peas, pancetta, and Parmesan cream sauce. It was a hit. We shared it and all had a small place of started pasta. $29

Next we decided on pizza. We loved pizza when we toured across Italy. This was right up there! The crust was simply amazing- chewy, tasty, airy- perfect! Just like we remember from Italy. The pizza was perfectly cooked. It is very thin crust- very foldable. Nothing like the pizza from the window at the front of the restaurant (anyone know why??). The crust is thin but has a large chewy outer crust. Maybe the best part!!

We totally over-ordered! Sadly, we had more than half left. We should have ordered a large, not a Mezzo Metro?? It was listed to feed 3-4. Um, no! Would feed an army! We ordered half Quattro Formaggi and half sausage. Both were spectacular. $50

To top it all off, my DD - the birthday girl, was served a cute tiny dessert. The staff serenaded here with Happy Birthday in Italian and she was thrilled!!

What a lunch. It transported us to Italy for a welcome return visit. The service was excellent, food on point, loved it!! Lunch for 4 without drinks, $102

Here’s a question for the experts. Tried to move the ADR but no reservations were available. When seated, the restaurant was maybe 1/3 full. Why is that??? Why not take more reservations?!!

Here’s a question for the experts. Tried to move the ADR but no reservations were available. When seated, the restaurant was maybe 1/3 full. Why is that??? Why not take more reservations?!!

Pure speculation but I think it’s all due to staffing issues. I don’t think they have the number of servers or kitchen staff to seat near full capacity. Guessing during lunch it’s even worse than for dinner time but again just speculation on my part. Awesome report so far! Enjoy your trip

The Violet Sake - it was a bit sweet. The Same was the cloudy one- just awful to non-sake drinkers!

Isn’t that a special treat for a mom?? We are blessed for sure. They grow up too quick- nice to have this special connection!
