Celebrating Birthdays

I was wondering if we should celebrate birthdays all week or just the day of birthday?

Our twins turn 5 during our trip!!

We have a PS for Breakfastasaurus on Mon., CP for Wed. breakfast (Birthday), and CM's on Fri. night.

I did mention the birthdays when I made the PS's. Do you think it's too much to celebrate all week? Would it be more special to just celebrate on the official date?

Any tips or advice is welcome!

Our Mother/Daughter trip to WDW in October is for DD's 16th Birthday. I made a PS's today for Breakfastosaurus and in conversation with the CM, I was told to be sure to have it noted on all our PS and to celebrate it the whole time we're there...she said a lot of people do it. Although DD's birthday is on the 18th (which we'll be spending with Tigger at CP ), I was thinking of celebrating all week long at each restaurant (afterall, it is her Birthday trip) so I was happy to hear her tell me to do exactly that. My advice: "go for it". Have fun.

Thanks for your info. When I called (3 dif. times) they didn't say anything about celebrating all week. I thought I had read that others had celebrated at more than one meal and more than one park but didn't want to take advantage of anything.

For our trip in Sept. we will be celebrating DGS's 6th birthday, We will be celebrating all week with various activities Chief Mickeys, Birthday cruise, pirate cruise, Arabian knights,etc. Don't forget to get a Birthday Button to wear in the parks

We are celebrating all week. DD6 (turning 7) wants PSB breakfast and DD 4 (turning 5) wants only CRT. I had no idea how hard it was to book when I first told her about it and now that's ALL she wants for her birthday-yikes! She's already telling people that she's having her birthday with Cinderella! (yes, I plan to have the 1900 dinner in reserve just in case, and I had a long talk with her this week explaining that Cinderella would not actually *sit down and eat with us the whole meal* like DD thought she would!) We are also doing MNSSHP and the ice cream social at the Garden Grille, both for their birthdays and our anniversary. (We are paying for the ice cream; we don't except anything extra or free, except that we would like to do the "re-hitching" ceremony ) We will be meeting my sister and her family at MNSSHP. It's their anniversary and her two kids' birthdays too! I'm afraid they might think we're making it up, so we won't go overboard on telling people, but we apparently find January a fertile month in my family

I see nothing wrong with celebrating all week. Let me rephrase that. We WILL be celebrating all week. I see nothing wrong with sharing that with CMs, other guests, anybody who asks, etc. All I expect is a smile, maybe a "congratulations" or a "happy birthday" and maybe not even that always, although it would be cool if the princesses at the breakfasts signed "Happy Birthday" in the girls' books...I won't be disappointed if they don't/can't, though. Anything we get in the way of complimentary desserts, cards, etc will be considered Disney magic. We aren't expecting it, nor have we told the girls it's even a possibility. (just wanted to clarify that we aren't expecting Disney to provide a party for our kids - we'll be doing that ourselves) And just being there will be wonderful enough. I know they will remember it forever)

Gosh, I didn't mean to go on so. Yes, celebrate all week, proudly wear your birthday pin (or in my DDs case, birthday crowns ) and smile and say thank you when you are wished Happy Birthday

I'm not saying you shouldn't "celebrate all week" if that's what you want to do, but IMHO it "dilutes the brand". It just seems that it will make the actual day less special.

IMHO I'd rather have a bang-up on the actual day then small celebrations all week. Kind of like doing character meals, after too many they just aren't as special or exciting anymore.

My husband and daughter have the same birhtday and we're gonna celebrate all week. But really big on the date. My daughter who will be turning 4 only wants CRT for breakfast and is telling everyone too! I hope I get a PS. But I'm going to have dinner at Chef Mickey's! I heard thats great! Any input on that? I also heard if you ask you can get a birthday cake too!


Here is a silly question since I'm new to posting?

What is DH DD and DS mean? I'm guessing husband, daughter son?

Good guess. The D prefacing the H, D & S can mean either dear, Disney, darling.....whatever works for you.

We'll also be celebrating all week. DS8 will turn 9 in the middle of our trip. And, since that's the reason we'll be down there at that time, we are definately going to make the most of it. DS3 is already putting his request in to spend his 4th birthday at WDW.

My daughter is so excited!! I'm not sure we should have told her already since we aren't going until the end of Sept! Oh well! I know I need to get the CRT PS.

I'm hoping that since it's Sept. I'll have a little bit easier of a time getting them. Is that the only place to see Cindy???

I agree. DS and I are going down in October to celebrate his 12th birthday. This is a surprise trip.

I'm only doing the birthday stuff on his birthday. We're having breakfast at Chef Mickey's, dinner at LTT and then MNSSHP. We'll only be there for 5 days. If we did they birthday thing everyday, we'd both go crazy.

When I made the PS for LTT, I order a birthday cake. It was only
$10. Before the trip, I'm going to order ballons, card, and gift
baskets from the Disney Florist. I hope they'll be able to have them in our room when we arrive.
