Hi!

We're traveling to WDW from South America mainly to celebrate my father birthay (his 80th birthday). The thing is we'll be at WDW actually 2 weeks before.
So, if - when making online reservations- I put the real B-day, will he still receive sth? Or do you only receive a cupake, card or whatever only if your reservation is exactly on your b-day?

I know... maybe it's a stupid question but I don't know the answer!:confused3

It's not a stupid question, many people wonder the same thing. :)

All you have to do is put on the reservation that you are celebrating a birthday, you don't have to put the actual date on it.

Then make sure he gets a birthday button from either the resort (if onsite) or at any guest relations at the parks.
Whenever he wears it (which can be every day of vacation or just one day) people will wish him a happy birthday..etc.

Have a good vacation and tell him happy 80th!!

Happy Birthday to your father! I'm just echoing the previous poster, but this should not be a problem. We went to WDW to celebrate my birthday this year. We were there a week before the actual date and it was not an issue.

Make sure to get a Birthday Celebration pin when you check in at your resort or when you arrive at the park if you are staying off site. Have your father wear it all the time. You will be amazed at how many people (guests AND cast members) will give birthday wishes. I had a couple of really special surprises on my trip. Hopefully your father will have some too. Enjoy your trip!

I agree with the others, it is fine to celebrate early in WDW.
However, don't expect anything beyond well wishes by CM's and guests. He may, or may not, get cupcakes etc.
If it is really important to you, you can order (and pay for) a special birthday cake for him. This is the only way to gaurantee that it happens
Have a great trip.

When we went my mum it was about ten days after her birthday, we got her the button and everything and everyone was so lovely and made a huge fuss. However, people were wishing her happy birthday and she kept ignoring them, thinking she didn't hear I told her and she said, but it isn't my birthday! Wouldn't be bad if she was elderly but she's only 59!

Good question. Just let them know you are celebrating the birthday when you make the reservation, and make sure that you follow up with the host / hostess when you arrive at the restaurant.

it's the same for us! my birthday is may 1 and his is may 13... we normally can only make it for one or the other... but we both celebrate!
