Celebrating a Graduation in DW

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a way to celebrate my DH's graduation from college. This is the reason behind the trip to DW that we have planned for Jan. I know that birthday, anniversary & wedding celebrations are the norm but I am wondering what I can do for him to make this trip extra special. He has worked so hard & I just want to do something that will make this trip memorable.

Fisrt off Congratulations on the graduation - as for ideas, I guess a litte more information from you would help as right now not really sure how to answer as I don't know what your really looking for, but just in general some of the things we have done for special occasions.....

Have a cake and balloons delivered to the room
Set up a special reservation someplace nice (and can order a cake for there in advance as well)
Order a gift basket (fruit / candy/ a fun gift) and have that delivered to the room

I am sure there are lots more ideas people here can come up with - but to get us started are any of the above ideas at all interesting?

Wow how lucky! I hope my mom and dad do this for me! I've hinted enough and they bought me a Mickey Mouse with a judge's robe on because I'm graduating with a BS in Political Science and going to law school, so I hope it was a hint to me. What is his major? You could apply that to whatever gift or special event you have in store for him. I know a pricey dinner would make me happy... let us no more info!

I've gotcha covered! I celebrated my doctorate in the land of the Mouse and will celebrate my BF's doctorate with a Land/Sea package in January! Call either Disney Mail Order or your Disney Resort hotel when it gets closer to your trip and ask about Graduation memoribilia. They have car antenna toppers (I have these!), Christmas ornaments (that can be personalized - I have 1), mortar boards with Mouse ears (I have 2), and Graduation Grams. However, it looks like the Mickey & Minnie Grams on DisneyDirect are for 2004. Hmmm.

You can order these ahead of time and pack them with you, or have them delivered to your resort room! Also, search for "Disney graduation" on eBay - I have the blue Mickey, red Minnie, & antenna toppers listed there!

I guess a litte more information from you would help as right now not really sure how to answer as I don't know what your really looking for...

DH is graduating with his masters degree in biology. He is a wildlife/wetlands biologist by day & for the last million years, seems to have been a college student by night but finally that's almost over. I was trying to find out some info about the Disney's Wildlife Preserve but then decide for him that would be just like going to work so I decided not to do that. As far has having a cake or what-not delivered to the room, DH has a food allergy (Celiac Sprue) & is allergic to wheat & gluten so I don't know how that would work out? Do they make special cakes for situations like this? The balloons might be something I could do. Can someone tell me how to go about that? Plus we are on the dining plan & I have used it to my full advantage & have set up several ADR's at the nice restaurants.

Call ahead to your resort and find out about the cakes. The chefs at WDW can handle most any type of allergy, health issue etc. This way you can have a wonderful cake for the celebration for your son.
